Leeds Rhinos are set to welcome back England captain Jamie Peacock after an eight-month absence in Friday's engage Super League fixture at Castleford Tigers.

The prop forward underwent a knee reconstruction after injuring himself in the corresponding fixture at the PROBIZ Coliseum last season.

He missed out on a maiden Wembley appearance in the Challenge Cup final in August as well as the chance to lead England in the Four Nations Series Down Under.

Peacock has been named in Rhinos coach Brian McDermott's 19-man squad, his return providing the second major boost in consecutive matches for Leeds, who welcomed back stand-off Danny McGuire against the Crusaders on Easter Monday after a similar knee injury.

Three-quarter Lee Smith is also in contention to make a return, having missed their last three games with a hamstring injury, and prop Ben Cross is another addition to the team which beat the Crusaders.

Huby blow

Castleford are without the services of prop Craig Huby, who faces at least four months out with a fractured patella.

Huby sustained the damage during the Tigers' 22-20 defeat to St Helens on Easter Monday and is the club's third front row forward to be sidelined, joining youngster Jonny Walker and veteran Nick Fozzard on the injury list.

Cas coach Terry Matterson has included utility back Ryan McGoldrick in his 19-man squad for the first time this season.

Castleford squad: Mathers, Dixon, Arundel, Owen, Chase, Orr, Jackson, Hudson, Emmitt, Snitch, Ferres, Jones, Milner, Aspinwall, Massey, Thompson, McGoldrick, Holmes, Widders

Leeds squad: Webb, Smith, Delaney, Senior, Hall, McGuire, Burrow, Leuluai, Buderus, Peacock, Jones-Buchanan, Ablett, Sinfield, Cross, Bailey, Kirke, Burgess, Clarkson, McShane
