Warriors v Giants: Teams
At the DW Stadium, Sunday February 5, kick-off 3pm
Forwards Ben Flower and Epalahame Lauaki could both make their Wigan debuts when the Warriors host Huddersfield on Sunday.
The two close-season signings have been named in new coach Shaun Wane's 19-man squad for Wigan's opening match of the Stobart Super League season at the DW Stadium.
But Gil Dudson and Anthony Gelling, who also joined Wigan over the winter, have not made it into the squad for the contest.
Props Paul Prescott and Stuart Fielden and winger Amos Roberts do not make it either as they are all recovering from minor surgery.
Youngsters Tom Spencer and Sam Powell have also forced their way into first-team reckoning and will be hoping to survive the match-day cut when the squad is trimmed to 17.
Huddersfield have been beset by injury problems in the run-up to the season, but could have Larne Patrick available after he was named in the 19-man squad by Nathan Brown.
The 23-year-old Australian must still prove his fitness, however, after breaking his wrist in training.
Injury absentees include forwards Dale Ferguson, Keith Mason, David Fa'logo, Luke O'Donnell and David Faiumu, while new signing Tony Tonks is suspended.
Newcomer Tommy Lee is set to come in at stand-off for Kevin Brown as the Giants skipper is ruled out with an ankle injury.
There are also places in the squad for new signings Jason Chan, Luke George, Aaron Murphy and Greg Eden, with academy products Jacob Fairbank and Adam Walker featuring as well.
Wigan squad: S Tomkins, Charnley, Goulding, Carmont, Richards, Finch, Leuluai, McIlorum, Mossop, Hansen, Hock, O'Loughlin, Lima, Farrell, Tuson, Lauaki, Flower, Powell, Spencer.
Huddersfield squad: Grix, Lawrence, Cudjoe, Gilmour, McGillvary, Brough, Crabtree, Robinson, Lunt, Patrick, Wardle, Chan, Lee, George, Murphy, Fairbank, Walker, Eden, Johnson.
