Huddersfield Giants will be hoping to go into their Challenge Cup semi-final on the back of a Super League victory over the Castleford Tigers.

The Tigers are the Giants' last opponents prior to their semi-final clash against the Warrington Wolves on Sunday July 15.

Huddersfield suffered a late 28-24 defeat last time out, while Castleford were put to the sword 40-10 at Widnes on Monday night.

Castleford are currently 11 points off the play-off positions while Huddersfield are fifth in the standings with 22 points.

Tigers coach Ian Millward is set to hand a debut to new signing Jamie Ellis following his acquisition from Hull FC.

Richard Owen returns to the squad having missed the Widnes match through suspension while Ryan Hudson is back for the first time since their defeat to Hull KR in May.

Injuries

Brett Ferres, Jonathan Walker and Ryan McGoldrick all drop out with the latter now with the Black and Whites after securing his early release from the club in midweek.

Walker broke his hand in Monday's heavy defeat and will now miss the remainder of the season while Ferres is ruled out with a hamstring strain.

Playmaker Rangi Chase is not included in the squad due to being suspended on full pay while the club investigates his actions two weeks ago.

Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown has made two changes to his 19-man squad that will make the short trip east along the M62.

Luke Robinson and David Fa'alogo return in place of Eorl Crabtree and Dale Ferguson.

Castleford: Owen, Youngquest, Griffin, Orr, Emmitt, Huby, Snitch, Jones, Milner, Hudson, Mitchell, Jackson, Millington, Holmes, Massey, Thompson, Clare, Williams, Ellis.

Huddersfield: Grix, Lawrence, Cudjoe, Gilmour, Brown, Brough, Robinson, Mason, O'Donnell, Fa'alogo, Faiumu, Patrick, Chan, Lee, George, Murphy, Cording, Eden, Moore.
