Kevin Penny could make his first Super League appearance for Warrington since 2009 when the Wolves take on Castleford on Easter Monday.
The winger comes in as one of two changes to Tony Smith's 19-man squad for the trip to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle, with Richie Myler and Brad Dwyer dropping out.
Myler was unable to take part on match day against Widnes on Good Friday due to a shoulder injury and Gareth O'Brien is set to continue at scrum-half in his absence.
Prop Anthony England also did not make the final 17 for the crushing 44-6 win over the Vikings but should be able to make his fourth appearance for the Wolves on Monday.
But it is Penny who is the most notable inclusion, the 26-year-old fighting his way back into Warrington's first-team plans after fading out of the limelight following his explosive introduction to rugby league in 2007, which saw him score 13 tries in as many matches.
"I was a courier, delivering parcels, and I was actually on my way to a job when Tony rang me up," Penny said of his break from the top level of the game.
"I thought he'd pressed the wrong button or sat on his phone. But he offered me a second opportunity and I was never going to turn it down."
He added: "I've become a better player and a better person as well.
"It was kind of a mutual agreement when I left. I still had a year left on my deal but first-team opportunities were limited for me at the time and we decided the best thing for me was to move on.
"Both Tony and (owner) Simon (Moran) said, if I got my career back on track, they would look at bringing me back. At the time I thought they were just saying it but they stuck to their word.
"I've done a lot of learning about myself, about life, about rugby league in general. It probably sounds silly, but I didn't understand my role as a winger.
"Looking back, not having a rugby league background didn't help me. I wasn't able to deal with situations and adapt. I had to go down a level to be able to come back."
Castleford coach Daryl Powell has rested Liam Finn, meaning Jamie Ellis could make the match-day 17 this time, while centre Ashley Gibson is poised to make his debut.
Jordan Tansey, Jake Webster and Dan Fleming are all back in the squad, with winger Justin Carney and second-rower Oliver Holmes missing their first matches of the season.
The Tigers are third in the Super League table after their 43-20 win over Wakefield on Friday.
Castleford squad: Tansey, Shenton, Webster, Sneyd, Lynch, Milner, Huby, Millington, Hauraki, Massey, Clark, Mariano, Wheeldon, Ellis, Gibson, Owen, Channing, Clare, Fleming.
Warrington squad: Asotasi, Atkins, Bridge, Currie, England, B Evans, R Evans, Harrison, Higham, Hill, Laithwaite, J Monaghan, M Monaghan, O'Brien, Penny, Ratchford, Riley, Russell, Waterhouse.
