When Jarrod is on his game like he was today there are not many players in this league that can do what he does. I would happily have paid to see him play like he did today.
Quotes of the week
Francis Cummins heaped praise on Jarrod Sammut for his display in Bradford's 46-20 victory over the Broncos - before challenging him to raise his game to even greater heights.
The scrum-half scored four second-half tries and kicked seven goals for a 30-point haul as the Bulls maintained their strong start to the Super League season. But coach Cummins urged him to improve his consistency.
He said: "When Jarrod is on his game like he was today there are not many players in this league that can do what he does. I would happily have paid to see him play like he did today.
"The trick for him though is to produce this type of performance week in, week out - and do it for 80 minutes. Having said that, he is a special player and we are happy to have him.
"Overall I am delighted - for us to come out of Easter with five points is a great effort on our part."
The Broncos had gone ahead through a Michael Witt try but tries from Danny Addy and Chev Walker put the Bulls ahead.
Kieran Dixon then took over for the hosts, running in a 10-minute hat-trick before the break, but after the interval Sammut ran in his four scores as the Bulls went through the gears. There was also a brace for Elliott Whitehead, and with Sammut's kicking boots on Bradford romped home.
Broncos coach Tony Rea said: "You are only in a contest if you are part of it. When we were challenged by Bradford today we were not up to the task and that is an attitude thing.
"We lost control of ourselves in the second half and when Bradford ran at us we could not match them physically.
"They controlled the game in the right areas and they won the battles that needed to be won."Super League. Click here to bet.
