Craig Sandercock: Saw Hull KR snatch a draw at Huddersfield

The second half was very pleasing. I don't think any other team will come here and get a point after trailing 24-6.

Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock praised his players' self-belief after they scored two tries in the last three minutes to snatch a 24-24 draw from a scrappy Super League match at Huddersfield.

The hosts led 24-6 at half-time after dominating an ill-tempered first half in which three players were sin-binned, and they still held a 12-point advantage with time running out.

But Rovers co-captain Josh Hodgson and winger Omari Caro both went over for last-gasp tries and Travis Burns kept his nerve to land his fourth conversion with the last kick of the match to earn a draw for the visitors.

"The second half was very pleasing," Sandercock said. "I don't think any other team will come here and get a point after trailing 24-6.

"I was very disappointed with our first half but I have to commend the players for their second half. It shows there is a bit of self-belief there.

"We showed some good desperation and we had some good luck go our way for a change."

Sandercock also praised Burns for drawing his side level with the last kick of the game.

He said: "Travis is a very confident character. He loves that kind of stuff. I was glad he was taking the kick and not me!"

Anderson fuming

But Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson was left fuming after his team threw away their commanding lead.

"It's about attitude," Anderson said. "In the first half we scored points for fun and at times I thought we embarrassed Hull KR.

"But at some point in that game we made a decision to stop working hard together. The one-out carries and stuff like that are not acceptable.

"They are not Giants-like and they will not be tolerated. The players have had a spray. It won't happen again because, if it does, there will be changes, simple as that."
