Hull KR caretaker-coach Chris Chester believed Greg Eden had answered his critics in spectacular style after the full-back produced a man-of-the-match display in their 62-10 rout of the London Broncos.

Eden was dropped from the squad for last weekend's defeat to Salford for disciplinary reasons, but returned to run in three tries as part of an all-action display.

The win moves Rovers within a point of the play-off places, while the spectre of finishing the Super League season winless continues to haunt the Londoners.

Chester said: "Greg can be a bit of a freak sometimes.

"I thought he played very, very well today. He took the punishment we gave him on the chin and he has come back in style.

"We all know how good a player he is and how important he is.

"Overall I thought it was a very professional performance from the side and puts us in a good position."

Disappointed

The Broncos at least managed two tries, both scored by Jordan Atkins, but coach Joe Grima was disappointed at the nature of the latest defeat.

He said: "For us it was a case of not getting the job done.

"We started off badly and we finished the game badly. We wanted to complete our sets in the right area and we were just not able to do that.

"We picked up a few knocks, but it was more a case of bruised egos than anything else.

"For us now it is all about finishing the season as positively as we can, but more importantly planning for where this club is going to be next season."
