Josh Charnley: Scored four tries on his England debut against Wales

England made an impressive start to their Autumn Series tournament with an 80-12 victory over Wales in Wrexham, Josh Charnley scoring four tries.

Steve McNamara's side led from start to finish, the tournament favourites outscoring their opponents by 14 tries to two with Kevin Sinfield adding 12 conversions.

The visitors were denied an early try when Gareth Ellis' pass to Kallum Watkins was deemed forward, although they opened the scoring in the 10th minute when winger Ryan Hall dived over from Richie Myler's long pass.

Fellow winger Charnley doubled England's tally when he was found by Rhinos centre Watkins to score in the corner untouched. Surprisingly Sinfield, who was perfect with the boot in the Super League play-offs for Leeds, missed his second conversion.

Zak Hardaker, on debut, scored England's third try after a fine break from Sean O'Loughlin before Watkins got the England's fourth.

Hardaker scored a brilliant solo try for his second of the game from 40 metres out, but Wales had the final say before half-time with Christian Roets touching down, Matt Seamark making no mistake with the conversion.

Normal service seemed to be resumed after the break with Hall getting his second of the game, but Wales responded with a try of their own when Dan Fleming went in under the posts after a knock-on from Adrian Morley.

However, that was as good as it got for Wales with further tries from Ellis, Charnley and substitute Rob Burrow, all of which were converted by Sinfield, putting England 50-12 to the good.

Charnley made it a debut to remember when he helped himself to two more tries, while Leroy Cudjoe and Jamie Jones-Buchanan also touched down to make sure a rampant England finished in the ascendency.
