Hull KR extended their winning streak to five matches after producing a second-half fightback to defeat Salford 28-18 in their clash at MS3 Craven Park.

Rovers looked in trouble when they trailed 18-6 at half-time but they scored four unanswered tries after the interval to see off the Super League strugglers.

Wayne Godwin charged over from dummy half to give the visitors a 10th-minute lead and Marc Sneyd added the conversion.

The hosts made a number of errors in the early stages but they were back on level terms nine minutes later after Cory Paterson was set up by a break from Michael Dobson who also added the extras.

Graeme Horne then spurned a chance to put Rovers in front when he dropped the ball and he was made to pay for his mistake as Stephen Wild stole in for a second Salford try which was converted by Sneyd.

A Dobson kicking error allowed the Reds another attack just before the interval and they made the most of it with Matty Ashurst collecting Theo Fages' precise kick to score a try. Sneyd added the goal to make it 18-6.

Rovers hit back after the restart, however, and Paterson reduced the deficit in the 42nd minute with his second try of the game, Dobson's kick making it 18-12.

Dobson, who is leaving the Robins at the end of the season, then waltzed through the Salford defence just after the hour before converting his own try to level.

Dobson was the difference between the two sides now and his pass was scooped up by Craig Hall four minutes later as Hull KR went in front for the first time.

The conversion was missed by Dobson this time but he was on target to seal the win with six minutes remaining after Travis Burns had strolled through the Salford defence for a fifth Rovers touchdown.
