Hall: Hat-trick
A Craig Hall hat-trick helped Hull on their way to a convincing 26-6 win over Harlequins at the KC Stadium in Friday night.
After last week's defeat to Catalans Dragons ended their play-off hopes, Hull responded in the best possible way to cruise to their biggest win of the season and leave Quins in danger of missing out on a top-eight spot themselves.
The hosts shot into a 16-point lead with just 15 minutes on the clock, the first try coming five minutes in courtesy of Tommy Lee who latched onto an improvised kick from Mark Calderwood
Tom Briscoe was the next to score, sauntering in at the corner after Quins winger Will Sharp gave up possession close to his own line with no-one around him.
Willie Manu, took advantage of a stunned Quins side to slice their defence open before sending Hall clear to make it three tries in 10 minutes.
Hall went in again after collecting a pass from Danny Washbrook and cantering clear of a static Quins defence, while Danny Tickle kicking his third conversion from the touchline.
Hull kept up the pressure after the break and Danny Orr did well to stop Washbrook close to the line.
But it was the hosts who added a fifth score, Hall hanging on to a flat pass from Washbrook to spin his way over and complete his hat-trick.
Sharp got the Harlequins onto the scoreboard when he went over in the corner with 17 minutes to go to but the visitors were unable to mount a serious fightback.
