Bergamasco: Unclear what action will be taken against him

Mirco Bergamasco has been cited for his trip on Scotland fly-half Dan Parks during their winner-takes-all clash on Sunday.

The Italian centre has been alleged to have deliberately trip Dan Parks in the defeat that eliminated Italy from the World Cup.

Bergamasco and Italy's management have been informed by World Cup organisers and a hearing will be held in Paris.

If the IRB, who have come in for some criticism for their citing abnormalities, are to be consistent then Bergamasco will, like England prop Phil Vickery, receive at least a two-game ban.
