Ball and Chain: Namibia's officials could be in trouble

Reports allege that the entire executive of the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) faces a ban from the Rugby World Cup for profiting from the sale of their country's allocated tickets to a major promotions company.

According to the South African Press Association (SAPA), an IRB review carried out by Graeme Mew, a prominent Canadian advocate and judicial officer appointed by Rugby World Cup Limited, revealed the alleged breach of the RWC's ticket sale regulations.

The investigation is said to have shown how several cash deposits totalling E250,500 ($345,000) were made into a trust account of the law firm Conradie & Damaseb, owned by NRU president Dirk Conradie.
