End rotation policy - Brooke
Zinzan Brooke: Putting his money on South Africa to win the World Cup
All Blacks legend Zinzan Brooke is calling for future New Zealand Test teams to be picked on form and not on a rotation basis.
The former New Zealand number eight admits he was devastated at watching his former team crumble yet again at a World Cup - losing out to France in the semi-final.
But he is joining the chorus suggesting coach Graham Henry should lengthen his tenure, if he wants.
"We need to learn the lesson here, are we actually just going to wipe them (the coaches) off, and are their replacements actually any better?" Brooke told ONE News.
Brooke does want change though with no more handing out of the All Blacks jersey's on a rotation policy.
"If I'm playing against Rodney So'oialo I don't want to be told I'll get the jersey," said Brooke.
"It's like me and Buck Shelford, I was told I would get the jersey, I didn't want to be told I was going to get it even before playing to get the jersey, I want to earn it on right and merit."
Brooke is in Paris for Saturday's World Cup final and is tipping the Springboks to defeat England.
"My score is 26-18 to South Africa," said Brooke.
"The game is theirs to lose, but I'll also sit on the fence a bit, if the English are in there at around the 65-70 minute mark, I'll go with England."
