Morais mixes it up
Uva and Morais will be hoping for a resolute display against New Zealand
Tomás Morais has made nine changes to his side for Portugal's clash with New Zealand in Lyon on Saturday, eight tactical and one forced.
With Juan Severino Somoza handed a four-week ban for a headbutt on Nathan Hines in Portugal's opening round defeat against Scotland, Morais is forced to bring Paulo Murinello in at blindside flanker.
The other eight changes are all tactical as Morais looks to rotate his squad and give everyone a start. The only survivors from the game with Scotland are full back Pedro Leal, inside centre Diogo Mateus, star left wing Pedro Carvalho, number eight and captain Vasco Uva, his brother Gonçalo in the second row and tight head prop Ruben Spachuck.
The new half back pairing will see Luis Pissarra team up with Gonçalo Malheiro at scrum-half and fly-half respectively.
In the forwards João Correia comes in at hooker, alongside Andre Silva at loose head prop.
