Socol honest in defeat
Romania could not handle the pressure at Murrayfield
A disappointed Sorin Socol admitted his side failed to deal with the pressure Scotland applied on them as they succumbed to a 42-0 defeat at Murrayfield on Tuesday.
Romania, looking to bounce back from defeat to Italy, were behind as early as the second minute, and from there on in it was an uphill struggle.
"We didn't know how to take the pressure and it was very hard for us here," admitted a downcast Socol.
"It is very disappointing for us, as we tried to work on what went wrong last time but ultimately we couldn't."
With Scotland also guilty of far too many handling errors Romania were unable to capitalise, and Socol pointed to a lack of respect for the ball as the main reason.
"We didn't respect the ball or the techniques we needed to cut the errors out of our game," he said.
"In the first half we used the pick and go too much when maybe we would have been better served to move the ball wide."
