Kees Lensing

Date of birth: 1/6/1978

Position: Prop

Test caps: 13

Test Debut: Madagascar, 2002

Test Points: 5

Current Club: Sharks

Strengths: Lensing's size ensures that he is a truly formidable scrummager who would likely have been on the fringes of the Springbok squad had he decided against playing for his home country. Time spent in England helped to develop his technique so that he now puts his considerable bulk to good use.

Weaknesses: Of course being such a large man has its downfalls, and Lensing is slow even by prop standards. On top of this lack of mobility, the big man also has a habit of giving away unnecessary penalties which inevitably cost points against the big guns.

Likely headlines: 'For Kees a jolly good fellow', 'Skipper Lensing a hand to young charges'

Did you know: Lensing was born in the town of Keetmanshoop, which despite holding the tag of capital of southern Namibia, has a population of just 16,800. Incurred the wrath of London Irish boss Brian Smith after signing for the Sharks, reportedly going back on a promise to join the English club.
