Chris Masoe
Date of birth: 15/05/1979
Position: Number-eight/ Flank
Test caps: 15
Test Debut: Wales, 2005
Test Points: 5
Current Club: Wellington Hurricanes
Strengths: A genuine all-rounder of a loose forward, with the size, speed and strength to play at the top level in any of the three back-row spots, Masoe comes from a Sevens background. With a workrate that rivals captain Richie McCaw, Masoe is the ideal utility player and will doubtless make several appearances from the bench at the 2007 World Cup as his pace will prove a handful for weary defenders.
Weaknesses: A jack of all trades, master of none sort of player who is yet to discover his best position. In other words, an ideal man to have on the bench who is unlikely to get too many starts.
