Jerry Collins
Date of birth: 04/11/1980
Position: Flank
Test caps: 44
Test Debut: Argentina, 2001
Test Points: 10
Current Club: Wellington Hurricanes
Strengths: One of the most physically intimidating players in world rugby, Collins is a hard-hitting tackler who is immensely difficult to bring down once he builds up a head of speed. His physicality has scarred opposition players both mentally and physically - in 2003 he checked Welsh opposite number Colin Charvis into the hospital with one of his bone-jarring hits. On top of his robust defence and strong go-forward play, he has now mastered the art of off-loading in the tackle to become one of the most dangerous players in the game, and will be an early contender for Player of the Tournament at the 2007 World Cup.
Weaknesses: Despite his hard-as-nails reputation, 'JC' does have a tendency to get injured having battled several knee problems in the past.
