Strengths: A dangerous runner off the back of the scrum or ruck in the open field, Lauaki was a late selection on the basis of his ball-carrying skills. He is similarly strong in the tackle and looks set to be New Zealand's premier impact player despite lacking the experience of the majority of his teammates.
Weaknesses: Not only does he lack experience, but his maturity has also been brought into question after Lauaki admitted a charge of assaulting a security officer in Hamilton in 2006.
