Keven Mealamu

Date of birth: 20/03/1979

Position: Hooker

Test caps: 47

Test Debut: Wales, 2002

Test Points: 40

Current Club: Auckland Blues

Strengths: A flanker during his school days, Mealamu's mobility makes him an attacking threat as shown by the fact that he scored three tries in his first seven matches. As such he provides plenty of options off the bench with his superior ball skills, and has scored late, match-clinching tries against the likes of South Africa and England.

Weaknesses: While he is not that weak technically, he is not as sound or experienced as Anton Oliver which is why he'll expect to find himself on the bench for the bigger World Cup games. However his lineout throwing has improved vastly and we can expect to see him wearing the number two jersey on a regular basis in the near future.
