Rodney So`oialo

Date of birth: 03/10/1979

Position: Number-eight

Test caps: 37

Test Debut: Wales, 2002

Test Points: 25

Current Club: Wellington Hurricanes

Strengths: Blessed with great speed for such a big man, So'oialo is at his most dangerous when breaking off the back of a scrum. As solid as can be in defence, he can off-load in the tackle and has turned into the perfect foil for Richie McCaw and Jerry Collins, cementing his place in the starting line-up. So'oialo was one of just five players to play in 11 or more of the All Blacks 13 matches during the 2006 Test season, proving his sublime fitness levels.

Weaknesses: Has been criticised in the past for being too easy to bring down, but has bulked up over the last year and turned into something of a machine.
