Strengths: Has gone through a meteoric rise from Waikato benchman to surprise World Cup selection after taking advantage of Byron Kelleher's absence for the first half of the 2007 Super 14, Leonard is a good runner on the ball, a slick passer and his youth is evident in his workrate.
Weaknesses: Yet to master the kicking game, and not the most sound player defensively, Leonard still has plenty of work to do until he is the finished article.
