Strengths: Has a cool head on his broad shoulders and makes the right decisions when receiving the ball at the back. MacDonald also possesses electric pace and a good step, so he can also fill in at centre as well as providing goalkicking back-up for Dan Carter.
Weaknesses: A fairly polished player, the only weakness MacDonald may want to work on is his kicking game.
