Strengths: Size and speed. Steenkamp is your typical big Springbok forward (125kg) who has amazing pace for his size. He is a dynamic ball-carrier and provides plenty of go-forward with ball in hand. Steenkamp has been groomed into his position by the legendary Os du Randt - a fine teacher to have showing you all the tricks in the book.
Weaknesses: Injury prone. It's true what they say - the bigger they are the harder they fall. This seems to be the case with Steenkamp, who also lacks sufficient game time because of injuries that have kept him out of action.
