Strengths: Botha is a tough character who anchors the scrum well. He also has above-average hands accompanied with deceptive speed that gets him around the park. He hits rucks hard and is involved in all the mauls while also managing to make a high number of tackles for a prop.
Weaknesses: Australia and New Zealand, South Africa's opponents in the Tri-Nations tournament, have accused Botha of scrumming at an inward angle, which is against the laws of the game. He also isn't the biggest tighthead prop around.
