Stormers v Bulls - Live
Full time STORMERS 20 - 17 BULLS
80 The Stormers keep it tight. Running down the clock...that's it! The Stormers win! What an epic battle! Thanks for joining us, cheers.
78 Aplon breaks down the left-hand touchline, he chips it over the top and it's knocked on by Steyn.
77 PENALTY, STORMERS, GRANT 20-17. And Grant makes no mistake, the Stormers are ahead with three to play!
76 Big moment as after two reset scrums the Stormers are awarded a penalty for Greyling scrumming up but I think he was unucky there, it was the Stormers prop who infringed.
74 The Stormers are awarded a free-kick at the scrum as the Bulls engage skew but de Villiers signals another scrum. Grant heaves an up and under into the sky and while Kirchner does well to take it, a knock on follows and the Stormers have a scrum 5m inside the Bulls half.
72 Back to back knock ons in midfield leave the Stormers with a scrum just there side of the 10m line.
70 Steyn shows a bit of what could still be to come with a drop goal attempt that is just short.
68 CONVERSION, BULLS, STEYN. 17-17. He's had a poor night with the boot but when it matters Steyn slots it from the touchline! We're all square!
67 TRY, BULLS, OLIVIER 15-17. Even on the wing Hougaard is involved and he along with Ralepelle do strong work before the ball is spread wide to Kruger who does oh so well to draw his man before putting Olivier into the corner
65 Basson does brilliantly to collect a Steyn up and under but the Bulls spill the ball as they move it wide. The Stormers kick it back and the Bulls can build again.
64 Steyn has a chance to hit back straight away as Bekker is penalised at the tackle but he hooks it again.
62 PENALTY, STORMERS, PIETERSEN, 17-10. The full-back makes no mistake, that's three more. An interesting sub here as Jarno Vermaak comes on for Akona Ndungane and moves to nine with Hougaard switching to the wing.
61 Silly, silly stuff from the Bulls as Dean Greyling concedes and unnecessary penalty right front of the posts as he has two bites at the cherry at ruck time. The Stormers were making ground but weren't looking overly dangerous.
58 Duvenage gets a lucky break as a poor high kick from the maul doesn't cost him much as the Bulls knock on and the Stormers get the ball back.
57 Hougaard comes oh so close to getting a try as the ball skewers out of the scrum, he's onto it in a flash but Duvenage gets a hand to it and just gets him to fumble it before the number nine dives over. The Bulls infringe at the scrum and the Stormers are able to breathe for a moment.
55 The Bulls move it wide from the line-out and as it comes back in towards the middle there is a forward pass. Pietersen clears from the scrum and Kirchner returns with an up and under that has the Stormers in trouble but a kncok on gives the Stormers some relief with a scrum 10ms from their own line.
53 Ralepelle is again the man working his heart out for a penalty as the Stormers are penalised for holding on. He's a little lucky though as he seemed to come in from the side. No matter, the Bulls have a line-out on the Stormers 22m.
51 PENALTY, BULLS, STEYN, 10-14. And Steyn puts it over, it's a four-point game!
50 Steyn and Habana exchange poor kicks and the end result is the Bulls on the attack just inside the Stormers half. Kruger bashes it up and from the ruck Elstadt is penalised for not releasing the tackler.
46 TRY, BULLS, BASSON, 7-14. Totally against the run of play, the Bulls have a try! Hougaard's kick flies deep into the 22 and with noboday around Kirchner leads the race, he looks about to dot down under pressure but with Bekker holding him back, Basson dives on the ball to secure the five-pointer. Steyn add the extras.
46 Having initially looked a little lost, the Stormers look dangerous through de VIlliers and de Jongh but the ball spills loose and Hougaard clears.
45 The Stormers look good on attack - they have throughout - but Bryan Habana is isolated and Ralepelle forces the penalty as he looks to rip the ball away. Steyn misses touch! Wow, he's not having a great game. And the Stormers attack once more.
41 YELLOW CARD, BULLS VAN DER MERWE. Ref Joubert has run out of paitence as yet another Stormers player is taken out in the air and Flip van der Merwe will spend 10 minutes in the bin.
41 Steyn clears calmly from the restart and the Stormers start the line-out just within the Bulls half.
Ready to go The players are out in the middle and we're ready to get back underway.
Half-time It's been a brusing battle at Newlands and despite having much of the running, the Bulls are lagging badly on the scoreboard. They're going to need to up their game and their discipline in the second forty.
40 TRY, STORMERS, LIEBENBERG 14-0 . Liebenberg is waiting to drive it over and despite the presence of a number of defenders he manages to get over! Pietersen for once is not on target with the conversion.
39 A rare error from Hougaard hands the Stormers a scrum inside the Bulls 22m. Looping around de Jongh does really well before a strong burst from Kolisi puts the Stormers right on the line.
37 Pietersen has plenty of time to line up a long-range drop goal but he misses to the left with a good strike.
36 Elstadt is taken out in the air from the restart and the Bulls now have a team warning for persistant infringements.
35 PENALTY, STORMERS, PIETERSEN, 9-0. And he puts and puts another one over. The Stormers aren't even spending much time in the Bulls 22m but they're forcing the Bulls into mistakes.
35 Phew. It's hard to get in just how much is going on at the moment as both sides are running each other into the ground with great running rugby. The Bulls have infringed and Pietersen has a shot at goal from about 40 out.
31 Zane Kirchner is penalised for taking Gio Aplon out in the air but Pietersen errs and doesnt find touch. He gets another chance as the Bulls work hard to get back into the Stormers half only to give away a penalty at ruck time.
29 The Bulls dominate possesion as they bulldoze up in the Stormers half. The Stormers are blown up for a high tackle and Steyn has a kick from 10 in just in front of the 50m line but he pulls it to the right.
27 PENALTY, STORMERS, PIETERSEN, 6-0. Kruger gives away another penalty, this time for not rolling away and Pietersen has a shot from about 50 out and he just has the legs to get it over!
24 The atmosphere at Newlands is electric as the Stormers move it around, they're making good ground but Elstadt knocks it on as he goes into contact against some big men.
23 Wow, I highly doubt we'll have all 15 men on the field for the whole of this game as Dean Greyling makes an early tackle on Bryan Habana. About the third flair up we've had. Stormers line-out on the 22m.
21 They maul it up and are stopped inches short. The forwards have another go before it's spread wide, they move it back towards the pack and Kruger is penalised for coming in from the side, allowing Pietersen to clear.
19 Again the Bulls look good on attack but the Stormers manage to steal the ball 5ms out. The ball is cleared and then returned and Liebenberg is penalised in the left and corner for holding a man back and the Bulls have a great attacking line-out.
17 Hougaard does well after being thrown a horrible pass but the Stormers turn the ball over in midfield and clear. The Bulls respond with an up and under which Pietersen colelcts under pressure and Grant clears their lines.
16 Steven Kitshoff is penalised at scrum time for a hand on the ground and it allows Steyn to set up a line-out just on the Bulls side of the Stormers 22m.
15 This is real cut and thrust stuff with both teams using the box kick to good effect.
12 PENALTY, STORMERS, PIETERSEN, 3-0. He makes no mistake from 25ms out and the Stormers are on the board.
11 We're going to see a lot of this one imagines as Hougaard puts in a good high kick, Kirchner challenges well for it and regains posession for the Bulls but is tackled into touch. The Stormers make great ground through a high kick which is taken by Habana and popped off to de Jongh. The Bulls are penalised at the ruck and Pietersen has a chance to open the scoring.
8 The home side's forwards and backs combine with great pace and precision as they come within a few metres of the line but Kolisi is penalised for sealing off the ball and the Bulls clear to their 10m.
7 The Stormers do the same but with Stormers number eight Duane Vermeulen on his feet at the Bulls ruck, the visitors hold on and Joe Pietersen sets up a line-out on the Bulls 22m.
5 A box kick from Francois Hougaard goes over the dead ball line and a 22 drop out results. The Stormers clear and deliver some staunch defence and the Bulls knock it on after a few phases.
3 The Bulls are pinged for an early engagement at the scrum and the Stormers break. Liebenberg knocks it forward and he has some afters with Juandre Kruger. Ref Craig Joubert talks to the captains and tells them to get a handle on their teams and we return to the scrum. The Stormers are penalised for collapsing the scrum and the Bulls clear.
Away we go! Morne Steyn gets us underway and he kicks it straight into touch!
Moment of silence We're going to have a moment of silence for the members of the Motherwell Rugby Football Club who lost their lives tragically this week when they were washed out to sea.
Pretty in pink? The Bulls are wearing their pink away strip. It's pretty controversial and to be honest rather ugly.
Brutal battle South African derbies are not known for being particularly easy on the eye with their hard-hitting nature, but while this clash is sure to have plenty of grind, both teams possess back-lines with the ability to score tries.
Conditions It's been bucketing down in Cape Town for the last two days bit we've luckily we've had clear skies today.
