Force v Sharks - Live
80 FORCE 13 - 23 SHARKS
80 A super scrum from the Sharks and they apply so much pressure the Force stand up and concede the penalty. Lambie finds touch on the 10m. Du Toit collects from the line-out and McLeod pumps it into touch. The losing streak is over for the Sharks while it's yet another close call for the Force.
79 A short-arm penalty and the Force attack once more. Godwin is just short! The ball is spread back towards the middle of the park. Tetera Faulkner is just short and Tessmann looks to pick and go but he's knocks it on before Sheehan picks it up and dives over. No try says the TMO and it looks the correct call.
77 Big defence from the Sharks and Sheenan knocks it on. He doesn't have quite so much to say this time.
76 The Force get a penalty and they have a line-out 22 out.
75 Lambie is under pressure as he collects a grubber on halfway with a host of Force players rushing on. He collects but there is then a knock at the ruck and the Force have a scrum on the Sharks 5m line
74 PENALTY, SHARKS, LAMBIE, 23-13. No mistake from Lambie this time as he slots it straight through the middle. The Force need to score twice now.
73 The Sharks can't get the maul going so they pick and drive and the Force are pinged for not rolling away. Lambie is going to have another shot from about 30 out and 10 in from the near touchline.
72 The line-out is too long and Lambie dives on the loose ball before McLeod clears to the halfway line. Scrappy from Sheehan as the line-out is messy and the Sharks are on the front foot as they now have a line-out
70 Replacements aplenty for both sides. The Sharks are penalised just inside their own half and things are getting out of hand here! A mixture of handbags and punches as Sheehan gets involved with Coetzee. The ref doesn't see much in it and we continue with the penalty. Line-out 10 out from the Sharks line.
68 Again it's one end to the other as neither side wants to take it into the tight stuff. The Force are penalised for not rolling away and Lambie is going to have a shot from the 10m line but right in front. Wow, an uncharacteristic miss from Lambie - that could be costly!
66 Viljoen slices through the defence from his own 22 before putting in a kick into space in the Force 22. Dellit returns the compliment with some great running and the Force have me out wide but they can't make the most of it. Sharks line-out inside their own half. This game has really opened up.
64 CONVERSION, SHARKS, LAMBIE, 20-13Lambie adds the extras.
63 TRY, SHARKS, VILJOEN, 18-13. Great stuff from the Sharks as they hit it up and then spread it wide to Viljoen who slips the tackle of Longbottom and goes over. It wasn't always pretty but it was effective!
60 Cut and thrust stuff as both sides show they're not afraid to run the ball. It's a Sharks line-out on the Force 22 and the hosts concede a penalty. It goes just to the right.
58 The ball is grubbered into the Sharks 22 and Viljoen runs it back strongly. Mathewson does well to disrupt the ball at the breakdown and the Force hit back. It goes wide and there is a knock on five out from the Sharks end right on the near touchline. Another penalty to the Sharks at scrum time and they're able to clear their lines.
55 PENALTY, FORCE, HAYWARD 13-13. We're square once more as Hayward makes no mistake from int front.
54 The Force maul it up but go nowhere. They switch tactic after nearly going into touch and still keep it tight while bashing it up. The Sharks infringe at the breakdown and knowing he has the advantage Mathewson puts in a big up and under into the 22. It's carnage there with 10+ players going for it and their is a knock on from the Force so we go back to the penalty.
52 A penalty just on the Sharks side of halfway as JC Janse van Rensburg goes offside at ruck time and instead of going for poles the Force set up a line-out on the 22.
51 PENALTY, SHARKS, LAMBIE 13-10. The Sharks are back in front as Lambie slots it through.
50 Some tough defence from the Sharks and the ball goes loose. The Sharks counter and they're over halfway. Great work from first Pietersen and then Mvovo and the visitors crack into the opposition half. The move breaks down but they go back to a penalty in midfield on the 10m line.
47 Easy metres for the Force as they go on the attack right from the kick off and they're just short! Lovely kick from Ebersohn across the field to Cummins out wide. The winger dives to try and touch it down in goal but he just can't get to it. The Force had a penalty advantage and we go back to what becomes a line-out on the Sharks 5m line.
45 PENALTY, SHARKS, LAMBIE 10-10. No mistake from the Sharks number 10 and we're all square.
44 The Force do well to stop the initial drive from the Sharks but Cooper breaks away and they're well inside the 22. Coetzee gets even closer but then a wild pass from McLeod sends them back 20ms - shocking. Ndungane brings it back and Mathewson is penalised for off-side at the ruck and Lambie has a penalty just inside the 22.
42 A skew throw from Tessmann hands the Sharks a scrum just inside their own half and they're awarded a penalty as Cowan goes to ground. Sharks line-out on the 22.
41 The second half is underway!
FORCE 10 - 7 SHARKS
40 Mvovo collects an up and under and hammers it into touch to bring a close to the half.
39 Again Ebershon plays the territory game and Viljoen finds touch just short of halfway in response.
38 Lambie knocks it down town and Hayward clears to halfway. The Sharks go nowhere quite quickly and the ball is knocked on. Force scrum on halfway.
35 Godwin is again at the fore as the home side go on the run. There is a knock on from Pek Cowan though and the Sharks have a scrum just short of their 10m line.
34 A box kick from Mathewson sees Viljoen under heavy pressure. He collects and McLeod clears but it's a poor kick and Hayward returns the favour in the Sharks 22 where Bosman is forced to run the ball into touch.
32 CONVERSION, FORCE, EBERSHON, 10-7. The South African pivot adds the extras for the Force.
32 TRY, FORCE, GODWIN 8-3. Cooper goes over the back to Daniel and McLeod clears, setting up a line-out on his 10m line. From the line-out the ball is moved out to Hayward who breaks through a tackle to free up Godwin who puts in a little serve to beat Mvovo and open the way to the try line!
30 After 12 phases of graft Ebershon puts in a little grubber into the corner for Alcock to run onto but the flanker doesn't have the pace to get there and it's a Sharks line-out 5m out from their own line.
28 Heath Tessmann goes long with the throw and the Force again work it through the phases. Ebersohn puts off a speculative drop goal but he can't find the target. Ndungane clears and we're back to where we started.
27 The Force manage to gather the restart and they're finding life a little tougher now as the Sharks defence really come up strongly. The Force are bundled into touch and it's a Sharks line-out 20m inside their own half. McLeod clears the lines and once again their is an exchange of kicks with ends with the Force in the ascendancy with a line-out on the Sharks 10m.
24 CONVERSION, SHARKS, LAMBIE 7-3. A super conversion from Lambie from out wide and the Sharks have sprung to life.
23 TRY, SHARKS, DANIEL 5-3. Mvovo is brought into the line with an inside ball from Lambie and he's hammered in the tackle. The Sharks keep the ball in hand and Mvovo is once gain in the action. Alberts is prominent as they gain some momentum. The big man is just short and the ball is moved wide to Daniel who forces his way over!
21 The Sharks get it back with a short-arm at the scrum thanks to an early engagement and they decide to keep it tight with another scrum.
19 The Sharks get a rare chance with the ball in hand but it's just not clicking and Jannie du Plessis knocks on.
18 The Force have a line-out 40 out and the Sharks do well to bring the line-out to a quick stop. They Force are pinged for not releasing and the Sharks now have a line-out of their own on the Force 10m.
17 The Force spread it wide from the scrum and the Sharks are off-side. A bit of a hold up as Meyer Bosman is attended to. The centre got hammered in the face by head of Anton Bresler and there is blood pouring from his nose.
14 McLoed wraps around from the scrum and he's met with stern defence and knocks on. Not particularly inspiring attack from the visitors.
12 The full-back can't find the target and Lambie clears into Force territory from the 22. A forward pass hands the Sharks a scrum in midfield 5m inside the Force half.
11 Big hit! Viljoen is hammered by Kieran Longbottom as he looks to run it up from a high kick. The Force turn it over and after an exchange of kicks the ball is back with the Force. Another up and under and Nick Cummins does brilliantly to collect. The Force get a penalty as Viljoen fails to roll away and Hayward has another shot at goal.
8 PENALTY, FORCE, HAYWARD 3-0. Jayden Hayward makes no mistake and the Force have something to show for 84% possession.
7 Again the Force work it up with some strong carries. The Sharks are battling to stop them from getting over the game line. After 12 phases Kyle Cooper is penalised for hands in the ruck and the Force have a penalty right in front.
5 Lambie puts in an up and under which is well collected by Pat Dellit under pressure. Another kicking dual breaks out an it's the Force who get the better of it as they have a line-out just inside the Sharks half.
3 A bit of aerial ping pong to get us going. Riaan Viljeon puts in a high one and looks to be impeded as he looks to collect but he gets no relief from the refeere. The Force decide to pick and go and they work through the phases brilliantly, making ground with every carry. Alby Mathewson burst into the 22m but the Force are penalised at the breakdown at the Sharks have a line-out on halfway.
Kick-off Pat Lambie gets us underway in Perth!
Almost there The Force run out to a big cheer from the crowd at the nib Stadium, the home side are certainly pumped up for this clash!
Team news The Force have made just one change from the side that went down 22-21 to the Chiefs last time out, with scrum-half Alby Mathewson recalled to the starting line-up in place of Brett Sheehan who drops to the bench. The Sharks have added three Springboks to their starting XV, with prop Jannie du Plessis, flank Willem Alberts and winger Odwa Ndungane coming in for Wiehahn Herbst, Jean Deysel and Piet Lindeque respectively. In a fourth change, Anton Bresler replaces Pieter-Steph du Toit in the second row.
