Hurricanes v Cheetahs - Live
HURRICANES 60-27 CHEETAHS
80 That's it! An emphatic win for the Hurricanes in Conrad Smith's 100th game. Thanks for joining us, cheers!
78 CONVERSION, BANKS. 60-27
77 TRY, HURRICANES, LEIUA. 58-27. Alapati Leiua hands off Philip van der Walt as be busts clear after picking up a loose ball. The Cheetahs are dead on their feet at Leiua bolts home from almost 60m out.
76 Both sides are throwing it about from anywhere and everywhere now. The result is settled, the only remaining question is a bonus point for the Cheetahs. The pace as dropped off as the players are exhausted and are happy to waste some time resetting scrums.
72 The Cheetahs are the ones who need to come up with something but it's the home side who are on top, camped in the Cheetahs half and playing with real gusto.
68 Barrett misses the conversion but it doesn't matter now. Can the Cheetahs sneak a try to save a point?
67 TRY, HURRICANES, SMITH. 53-27. The Hurricanes break the 50-point barrier via a try from their centurion Conrad Smith at the end of another long series of phases.
63 Barrett's conversion attempt sails wide, but it shouldn't matter now. 21 points should be enough of a lead.
62 TRY, HURRICANES, PROCTOR. 48-27. The tries keep coming! The Canes take it through 8 phases before Matt Proctor dives over in the corner.
60 The Hurricanes already have the bonus point but they kick to the corner from a penalty anyway as they look to put this game away.
57 Can you believe it? We've had a few minutes without a score. The pace hasn't slowed though and you can expect a few more tries to punish tired legs in the final quarter. We're into the 57th minute and we're having just the second try!
52 CONVERSION, GOOSEN. 43-27. The Cheetahs need one more try for the bonus point.
51 TRY, CHEETAHS, UYS. 43-25. The Cheetahs aren't done yet! A powerful driving maul ends in big lock Francois Uys touching down.
50 CONVERSION, BARRETT. 43-20. The lead is building.
50 TRY, HURRICANES, Thrush. 41-20. A classic counter-attacking try from deep. Goosen makes a great tackle 2 metres short of the line, its not enough as Thrush scores from the second phase. The TMO gives the thumbs up.
49 Goosen winds the clock down by going for a penalty attempt from halfway. Its straight, but drops short.
48 CONVERSION, BARRETT. 36-20.
47 TRY, HURRICANES, BARRETT. 34-20. The extra man makes a the difference as the Hurricanes keep sending runners at the line until the Cheetahs run out of numbers and Barrett ghosts over for his second try.
45 WHAT?!?!?! The ref and the TMO decide that Le Roux's intention was to knock it down, not intercept so he sees yellow. That's a terrible decision! Barrett misses the penalty...
43 Holy smoke! The excitement keeps coming. Conrad Smith looks to put Julian Savea away for a try but Willie le Roux intercepts with nothing between him and the tryline 90m up field...but he can't hold on!
41 Here we go for the second half! Jack Lam is on for Blade Thomson for the hosts.
HURRICANES 29-20 CHEETAHS
40 CONVERSION, BARRETT. 29-20. Great kick!
39 TRY, HURRICANES, MARSHALL. 27-20. Julian Savea goes straight over the top of Francois Venter...the ball goes wide and Conrad Smith shows wonderful soft hands to put his full-back away down the touchline.
37 The Cheetahs kick for touch after the scrum and then steal the line-out via De Jager. The Cheetahs are off their feet at the next ruck though. Barrett kicks for touch from the penalty but misses touch. The Cheetahs reply, line-out on halfway.
35 35 minutes gone and we'll pack down for the first scrum!
34 The entertainment continues! Le Roux does well under pressure at the back. Pretorius clears but the Canes throw it in quickly. Julian Savea chips over the defence but knocks on the catch with no one at home at the back for the Cheetahs.
31 Barrett's conversion attempt from the touchline sails wide.
30 TRY, HURRICANES, SMYLIE. 22-20. How did he score there? The Cheetahs commit two men to tackle Barrett in the corner, he offloads to Leiua, who makes a miracle offload to Smylie - all of it happening in the space of about 3m in the corner.
28 CONVERSION, GOOSEN. 17-20
27 TRY, CHEETAHS, VAN DER WALT. 17-18. Willie le Roux shows his class, slipping through the Hurricanes defensive curtain before offloading to Philip van der Walt, who breaks through two tackles to gallop home from long range.
24 PENALTY, HURRICANES, BARRETT. 17-13. Phew! 30 points scored already...
23 The Hurricanes steal the line-out! They're plying the pressure right on the Cheetahs line. Will the visitors' defence hold?
22 It's helter-skelter stuff. Blade Thomson intercepts on his own 22 and bolts. He is chased down but the Canes keep throwing it about until Reddish throws it past Savea into touch.
20 CONVERSION, BARRETT. 14-13. Looks like we're in for a high-scoring game!
19 TRY, HURRICANES, BARRETT. 12-13. It's like a game of Sevens out there! A brilliant chip over the top from Barrett, who collects his kick to race home and score under the sticks.
17 PENALTY, CHEETAHS, GOOSEN. 7-13. The pressure from the Cheetahs pays as the Hurricanes are penalised on the deck and Goosen splits the uprights.
15 Wave after wave of attack from the Cheetahs, who opt for the line-out instead of a kick at goal. The Hurricanes are suffering as they can't get their hands on the ball.
13 PENALTY, CHEETAHS, GOOSEN. 7-10. The points keep flowing as Goosen slots a penalty for offside.
11 CONVERSION, GOOSEN. 7-7.
10 TRY, CHEETAHS, LE ROUX. 7-5. The Cheetahs strike straight back as Sadie finds a gap and breaks before offloading to the flying Willie le Roux.
8 CONVERSION, BARRETT. 7-0.
7 TRY, HURRICANES, COLES. 5-0. Three big mistakes by the Cheetahs cost them a try. Rhule throws the ball at Barrett inside the Hurricanes 22. Barrett kicks it up field, Goosen get back but tries to step the chasing Barrett instead of clear. He is caught and isolated and the ball is turned over. The Canes send it wide, Sadie comes out of the line and leaves the gap for Coles to score out wide.
5 Both sides are guilty of losing the ball a lot early on so it's end-to-end stuff. The Cheetahs have an attacking line-out 15m out. The Cheetahs try maul it up, Pretorius breaks alone but is turned over by Smylie! The Canes clear.
3 A poor pass to Rhule goes straight into touch. Some kick tennis after the line-out takes us back to square one.
1 Here we go. Johan Goosen kicks us off. The Canes kick back and the Cheetahs have a line-out on halfway.
Team news: Sarel Pretorius is given a start at scrum-half. Pretorius comes in for Shaun Venter at the base while Raymond Rhule returns to the side. Cornal Hendricks replaces Rayno Benjamin on the other wing so that means Willie le Roux returns to the full-back jersey as Hennie Daniller drops to bench duty
Team news: Hurricanes skipper Conrad Smith wins his 100th cap for the Hurricanes. Smith will lead a line-up featuring a number of changes from the side which faced the Brumbies last weekend, including Faifili Levave and Hadleigh Parkes, who return from injury. Ardie Savea has also been given the nod at openside flanker, while Jeffery Toomaga-Allen makes a return to the starting line-up. Chris Smylie gets his first start for the season at scrum-half ahead of TJ Perenara.
Hello and welcome to Westpac Stadium in Wellingington, where the win-less Hurricanes host a Cheetahs side on their third leg of a tough overseas tour.

I watched Bath v Saracens last Friday and was very impressed with George Ford and how well he controlled that game for Bath. I would love to see him play a big role in the autumn internationals and I hope Stuart Lancaster starts him for at least two of the four Tests.
