What a game it''s been and both sides deserve credit for making it an entertaining spectacle.

The Lions have upped the ante in the last 10 minutes and were richly rewarded. The Blues have paid the price, after losing Faumauina and will have plenty to do after the break if they want to win this game.
40 TRY, LIONS, SKOSAN! 15-0. The Lions are awarded a penalty just outside the Blues' 22 when Noakes holds onto the ballo n the ground. The home side plays quickly and Courtnall Skosan breaks infield after gathering a pass from van Rensburg before scoring!

27 Charles Piutau runs onto a pass from Benji Marshall and takes a half gap. He is soon inside the Lions' half where he is tackled by van Rensburg, and gets a pass away, but there's no one behind him to take it.
24 Boshoff sees a gap behind the Blues' defence and delivers a cross-field kick which he hopes will roll into touch deep inside the visitors' 22. Unfortunately for him it rolls over the dead-ball line and the Blues can attack at a scrum just inside their half.
22 The Blues get the put-in at a scrum inside the Lions' 22 but the home side's pack shove them off the ball! Whiteley gathers and sets up a ruck before Boshoff boots the ball into touch.

17 The Blues attack close to the halfway mark and George Moala gets through half a gap on the outside of Deon van Rensburg. He tries to offload but JW Jonker does well to get a hand to the ball and knock it backwards.

8 The Lions are camped close to the blues' try-line but they fail to capitalise as Coenie van wyk knocks on a long pass from Faf de Klerk close to the left-hand corner!
6 The sides pack down for the first scrum. It's deep inside the Lions' half and Tony woodcock is penalised for scrumming inwards. Boshoff puts the resulting penalty out on his 10-metre line.
3 Warren Whiteley is pinged for straying offside, close to the halfway line. Noakes kicks for touch and puts the ball out on the Lions' 22-metre line.
1 And we're off! The game gets underway with Chris Noakes kicking deep. Franco van der Merwe gathers and sets up a ruck inside his 22.
For the Lions, Marnitz Boshoff returns to fly-half after starting at full-back against the Sharks. This means that Elton Jantjies drops down to the bench and Coenie van Wyk comes into the run-on side at full-back. Jantjies is joined amongst the replacements by Ruan Combrinck, who has been replaced on the right wing by JW Jonker. The final back-line change sees Courtnall Skosan taking over from Chrysander Botha on the left wing. In the forwards, Robbie Coetzee replaces Willie Wepener at hooker while Willie Britz takes over on the blindside flank from Warwick Tecklenburg, who, like Wepener will provide cover from the replacements bench.
Benji Marshall will make his first Super Rugby start for the Blues in this match.Marshall will line up at full-back in a Blues side featuring five changes to the one that lost to the Bulls last week. Charles Piutau moves from full-back to wing to accommodate the injection of Marshall as youngster Tevita Li drops out of the side. Pita Ahki is rewarded with a start at inside centre in place of Jackson Willison who moves to the bench, while Chris Noakes replaces Simon Hickey at fly-half. In the forwards, Peter Saili is suffering from a patella tendon injury as Steven Luatua moves to the back of the scrum to replace him, with Brendon O'Connor getting his first start of the season at blindside flanker. Patrick Tuipulotu replaces Liaki Moli at lock, while Jordan Manihera is poised to make his Super Rugby debut after being named on the bench.

If England are to have any chance of launching a successful assault on the Everest that is next year's World Cup, then the widespread feeling seems to be that they simply have to win their next two games.
