They prevented the Chiefs from playing the way they usually do by putting in a massive defensive effort! The Force have ended the Champions streak of victories and have increased their own to 3 in a row! The Chiefs will be disappointed but only have themselves to blame as they were beaten by a side that wanted it more.
80 The Chiefs turn it over on the siren! Oh my word is there more drama! They attack down the left side and knock it on. THE FORCE HAVE WON!!! They are over the moon! What an epic match and victory!

78 The Chiefs throw absolutely everything at the Force who are up for the challenge! The Chiefs spill the ball eventually and Morahan picks up and goes! The Force win a penalty and find touch!
75 The Force attack now with a good strong run from Godwin! They kick away possession straight to Tikoirotuma who runs hard up the middle. The Chiefs eventually knock on on the Forces 10 yard line. The Force crowd is going wild and chanting for their side!
70 A break in play has just finished as Kieran Longbottom has been stretchered off due to a nasty blow to the neck! But we're back with a scrum to Force 5m out from their own try line. And the Force have won a penalty! They are ecstatic and up for this!
68 The Chiefs work their way strongly into the Forces 22m. They use their big lads to carry the ball up and come close to the try line! The Force defend for their lives and eventually get the knock on! Inspiring stuff from the home side!

66 Great defense from the Force as they tackle hard to force a knock on from the Chiefs!

Western Force 8-9 Chiefs
40 We knew the Force would be up for it but the Chiefs definitely got a surprise from the intensity and tempo that the home side brought to the game in the opening stages! The Chiefs have battled to utilize the likes of the dangerous Nanai-Williams or Muliana and it is a bit of a wonder that they head into the break with the lead after the Force have dominated a large portion of the game. The Force need to take advantage of the extra man early in the next half and make sure that Ebersohn gets his kicks. If Force can repeat that performance an upset is not off the cards. Smart money is on the game opening up and the Chiefs to run in a few tries!
40 PENALTY, CHIEFS, CRUDEN, 8-9. Cruden makes sure the visitors go into the break in the lead!
39 A high tackle from the Force gifts the Chiefs another penalty. This time it should be an easy three for cruden.
38 The Chiefs win a penalty about 60m out, just out of Cruden's range so they've set up a line out just outside the Force's 22m.
37 They drive it up a bit and then Ebersohn goes for a cross kick but it goes straight out for a Chiefs throw.
36 The Force win a penalty and Mackintosh has been sent to the bin for coming into a driving maul from the side. Big opportunity here for the Force just before half time! They set up a line out.
34 The Force attack just outside the Chiefs 22m off a scrum. The Chiefs pounce on the Force at the breakdown and win a penalty.
31 PENALTY, CHIEFS, CRUDEN, 8-6. Cruden makes no mistake as the Chiefs dominance in the last 5 minutes pays off.
29 The Force are scrambling on defense as the Chiefs throw everything at them! Eventually the pressure tells and the Force are penalized at the breakdown. They are also given a warning from the ref!
28 The Chiefs use their big ball carriers to gain some go forward as they work their way into the Forces 22m! Great work from the Force as they make a still on the ground! Cruden does well to charge down the clearance kick but the ball rolls out over the dead ball line as he chases to dot it down!
25 More scrums as this time the Force dominate the set piece and win a short arm! And are now taking a scrum! The put in has changed hand four times now!
24 More scrums as this time the Force dominate the set piece and win a short arm! And are now taking a scrum! The put in has changed hand four times now!
22 A huge scrum from the Force puts the Chiefs under pressure. The backs spill the ball and the Force will now get a put in. The scrum doesn't go well for them this time and the Chiefs get a short arm.
21 First real dangerous play from the Chiefs back line as Nanai-Williams makes a half break and looks to offload. It's knocked down by a Force player and Chiefs will get the put in around the half way line.
18 PENALTY, CHIEFS, CRUDEN, 5-3. Great strike from Cruden!
17 Chiefs turnover the ball and begin to attack! They do well to win a penalty as the Force are penalized for hands in the ruck. Cruden is having a shot at goal from the corner.
15 Retallick does incredibly well to win the ball off the kick off. They work the blind side but an over the should pass by Sam Cane is forward and Force get the scrum.
14 Ebersohn misses another kick at goal!
13 TRY! FORCE, HODGESON, 5-0. Fantastic stuff from the Force who are elated! Great driving maul and try from the skipper! The Force have definitely pitched up today and are setting the tempo.
11 The driving maul looks good, Hodgeson breaks blind and runs into two Chiefs defenders who take him into touch. There was another penalty infringement and they opt for touch again!
10 They go wide to Sias Ebersohn who stopped by a desperate try saving tackle from Tikoirotuma! Penalty to Force and they set up a line out.
9 Ebersohn just pushes it out to the left! Chiefs take the 22 drop quickly but lose it and Force are on the attack! Cottrell has a good run and comes close!
8 Great pressure from the Force at the breakdown! They win a penalty as the Chiefs try to run it from inside their own 22m. Sias lines it up from the corner of the 22m.
7 The Chiefs try a grubber through inside their 22m which is charged down! Cummins is after it as it goes towards the try line but just bounces out before the Force winger can get to it!
6 Matthewson goes blind and puts a deep grubber through which finds touch on the Chiefs 22m. Good play!
5 The Chiefs spill the ball on attack. The Force's intensity is really good! You can see the confidence they've gained from their last two wins.
2 The Force defend well and even manage a turnover! They go on attack and do well taking it through a few phases. The Chiefs player isn't rolling away but Matthewson is stamping all over him and the ref reverses the penalty towards the Chiefs!

0 Force news: McMeniman, who travelled to New Zealand last week but was not named in the 31-29 win over the Highlanders, will make his return to the field after recovering from a back injury sustained against the Brumbies in Week Three. The 22-Test Wallaby makes his comeback on the blindside flank, with Angus Cottrell moving to number eight in place of Ben McCalman, who will miss Saturday's clash after receiving a two-week suspension for a dangerous tackle in the match against the Highlanders. The remainder of the Western Force pack remains unchanged, while the team will run out the identical backline and reserves list from the past two matches against the Melbourne Rebels and Highlanders.

Kane Thompson, Tanerau Latimer, Augustine Pulu and Andrew Horrell are all added to the replacements bench alongside eighteen year-old Anton Lienert-Brown who will become the eighth player to make his Super Rugby debut for the Chiefs this season.
0 Welcome to nib Stadium in Perth for the Super Rugby clash featuring The Western Force and The Chiefs. The Force have managed two impressive back to back wins but are up against the unbeaten defending champions tonight!
