Crusaders v Hurricanes - Live
80 Crusaders 26 Hurricanes 29
80 The Crusaders have one last chance to take the honours when they attack from a scrum on their 10-metre line. They are soon awarded a penalty and play quickly but Ellis knocks on at a ruck and Smith boots the ball into touch! That's the final act of the match and the Hurricanes are victorious. They clung on until the death and in the end Leiua's try proved decisive.
77 Taylor gets a chance to level the scores after Levave is pinged for a high tackle on Taufua. His effort is from 48 metres out and falls just short of the cross-bar.
74 TRY, HURRICANES, LEIUA! 26-29. Alapati Leiua has just scored a magnificent try! He runs onto a pass from Julian Savea on the halfway mark and beats four defenders before crashing over!
72 Barrett gets another chance to regain the lead, after Nepo Laulala is pinged for playing the ball with his hands at a ruck. however, like his earlier attempt this one is also wide!
70 Barrett gets a chance put his side back in front, after Slade is penalised for being offside at a clearance kick from Dagg. His effort is on target but is too short.
67 Ellis is caught in possession by Jeremy Thrush who does well to hold him up. The 'Canes are trying to hold Ellis up in contact but Todd does well to rip the ball from his team-mates' grasp.
65 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, TAYLOR! 26-24. Taylor restores the home side's lead with a well-struck three-pointer after Perenara is pinged for a ruck infringement.
63 The Crusaders are on the attack close to the Hurricanes' try-line but Jack Lam does brilliantly to get onto the ball and Taufua is soon pinged for holding onto the ball on the ground. Barrett puts the penalty into touch just outside his 22.
61 Dagg gathers the ball in space and glides through a gap! He's soon inside the Hurricanes' 22 and offloads to Ben Funnell who sets up a ruck.
58 TRY, CRUSADERS, SLADE! 23-24. The Crusaders attack, inside the Hurricanes'' 22, and when Taylor is stopped just short of the line the ball is spun wide and Slade dives in to narrow the gap to a point!
55 The Crusaders do well when they take the ball through several phases from deep inside their half. They are soon inside the Crusaders' 22 and Nemani Nadolo gets the crowd off their feet when he shrugs off a couple of challenges before being tackled by Taylor. The ball is recycled and Slade kicks ahead but Smith does well when he fields the ball in front of his try-line.
52 Barrett has a kick charged down by Dominic Bird, midway between the halfway mark and the Crusaders' 22, but he does well to regather before slipping past tackles from Bird and Ben Funnell before setting up a ruck.
49 Tim Bateman delivers a cross-field kick and Blade Thomson gathers the ball inside the Crusaders'' 22, where he is tackled by Tuitavake. He manages to offload to Savea, who gathers the ball on the bounce before crashing over! The referee consults his TMO, who rules that the pass was forward!
47 Andre Taylor beats several defenders and is eventually brought to ground inside the Crusaders' 22 by Dagg. The Crusaders gain a reprieve when Smith is penalised for side entry at a ruck.

40 Crusaders 18 Hurricanes 17
40 It's been non-stop entertainment and both sides deserve credit for making it the spectacle that it has been. The 'Canes were dominant early on but the 'Saders have clawed their way back and deserve their slender lead.
39 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, TAYLOR! 18-17. Taylor puts the hosts in front for the first time after John Schwalger is pinged for a line-out infringement.
36 Barrett launches an up-and-under, close to the halfway mark and goes up to compete for it with Slade. Barrett is a split second to late and plays Slade in the air. Referee Garratt Williamson awards a penalty to the hosts and Slade puts it into touch just outside the Hurricanes' 22.
33 TRY, CRUSADERS, MCNICHOLL! 15-17. The Crusaders show great patience as they take the ball through several phases with their forwards. Owen Franks, Matt Todd and Taufua carry well before the ball is spun wide to the backs. Slade throws a long pass to McNicholl, who scores in the left-hand corner!
31 The Hurricanes attack inside the Crusaders' 22 and take the ball through several phases. They make little progress, however, and Barrett is eventually forced to execute a grubber kick which Dagg has little trouble in fielding behind his try-line before dotting down.
28 Israel Dagg has a clearance kick charged down by Smith but Jordan Taufua, who is on as a replacement for Read, does well to regather before setting up a ruck inside his 22.
26 CONVERSION, CRUSADERS, TAYLOR! 10-17. Taylor makes no mistake from the kicking tee and the home side are right back in this match!
25 TRY, CRUSADERS, MCNICHOLL! 8-17. Andy Ellis takes a tap penalty, inside his half, and offloads to Ryan Crotty, who is soon inside the Hurricanes' 22! He stabs a grubber kick through for Johnny McNicholl who gathers before scoring under the posts!
24 It's all Hurricanes at the moment! They're on the attack, just outside the Crusaders' 22 and Levave and Conrad Smith carry strongly.
21 CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 3-17. Barrett succeeds with his place-kick which puts more daylight between his side and their hosts.
20 TRY, HURRICANES, PERENARA! 3-15. The 'Canes go onto the attack from a line-out and when Levave is stopped just short of the line Perenara spots, a gap at the ensuing ruck, before diving over!
19 PENALTY, CRUSADERS, TAYLOR! 3-10. Tom Taylor adds the Crusaders' first points with a well-struck penalty after James Broadhurst is pinged for holding onto the ball on the ground.

7 PENALTY, HURRICANES, BARRETT. 0-3. Barrett gets the game's opening points, from the kicking tee, after Owen Franks is penalised for not rolling away at a ruck.
4 The hurricanes attack inside the Crusaders' 22 and Ben Franks, Tim Bateman and Faifili Levave are prominent ball carriers. They are met by a wall of red defenders, however, and can't breach the hosts' defence.
1 And we're off! beauden Barrett gets us underway with a deep kick which Colin Slade fumbles inside his 22. It was backwards and he manages to regather and boot the ball upfield.
Hurricanes midfielder Tim Bateman will return to the field in this match after being sidelined with a knee injury for six weeks. Bateman slots into a back-line that is largely unchanged from the Hurricanes encounter with the Highlanders last week, however, full-back Andre Taylor has claimed a spot in the starting fifteen. Number eight Blade Thomson returns to the starting line-up following an injury spell last week, while lock James Broadhurst retains his position after a strong performance last week.
Crusaders head coach Todd Blackadder has made one change to his matchday squad for this encounter. The starting XV remains the same but with Tim Perry nursing a hamstring strain, loosehead prop Daniel Lienert-Brown has been called into the squad to provide cover from the bench. Crusaders captain and number eight Kieran Read will lead the team out on Friday night for his 100th Crusaders game.
