Brumbies v Blues - Live
BRUMBIES 23-9 BLUES
80 Ball into the scrum and the Brumbies try to run it out rather than kicking to touch, bizarrely. Blues turn it over, another chance for a try for them. Back for a penalty, tapped as Moli carries. Marshall tries to step his way through, can the Blues do it? No, they can't, as an appalling kick from Braid hands the Brumbies the ball and the game is (thankfully) over. Brumbies win in Canberra in one to forget.
78 Scrum penalty to the Blues, throwing everything at the Brumbies now. Advantage played, Hall taps. Luatua just short, then the Blues try and rush the ball left... is that a try? Parsons grounds the ball so the only question is if the ball went backwards or forwards. It's forward, no try and the Brumbies will just clear to touch from the scrum with seven seconds left.
75 Blues lineout deep in Brumbies territory. Ball secured and the Blues try and work it around the fringes, but it's inevitably stolen. White clears and the Blues go quick with Piutau and Marshall trying to combine, but it doesn't work out. Brumbies scrum right in the corner.
72 Blues have never got going in this one as Nonu's pass to Piutau flies a mile forward. Brumbies scrum.
70 PENALTY, BRUMBIES, WHITE! 26-9: White keeps the scoreboard ticking over for the hosts who are well out in front now. It's been a solid, clinical performance from the Brumbies.
68 Mogg and Alexander off for the Brumbies as the Blues clear, but still stuck in their own half. Penalty Brumbies, Kaino pinged for not releasing.
66 Brumbies building the phases in the Blues half. Five metres out and then Saili steals and runs free. Kick over the top from Moala but Mogg gathera and the Brumbies surge forward again. Short side and Tomane is bundled into touch.
64 Couple of resets and then the Blues hold on to the ball at the ruck, Smiler winning the praise of his team-mates. That's crushing for the visitors, as the Brumbies clear long.
62 Low grubber from Hickey cannons off Mogg and rolls dead, so a five-metre scrum for the Blues in a great position here.
59 Blues adrift now as the replacements comes on. Mogg noticeably clutching his hamstring as the Blues attack, Marshall on and chipping into space and it sits up, but only for Mogg to gather and White to clear. Blues lineout outside the 22.
56 TRY, BRUMBIES, COLEMAN! 23-9: Hall scampering over halfway as the Blues look to attack but the ball is turned over and cleared long. Li's clearance kick is a shocker and hands Mogg the chance to attack. Carter only a few metres out... Coleman is in! Another one for the wing in the left corner to go with his recent double. White's conversion hits the post.
54 Aimless kicking game from the Blues and it's killing their prospects. Saili chips into Tomane's hands trhe Brumbies attack over halfway. Kaino working hard at the breakdown and is rewarded with a scrum.
52 TRY, BRUMBIES, MCCABE! 18-9: Top chance for the Brumbies now after turning the ball over. Out wide and McCabe has a double! The Brumbies come right and suck in the defence before sending it through the hands for McCabe to finish off a simple chance. Handy lead but White misses the conversion.
51 Promising maul from the Brumbies, Mogg trying to toe it through and it rolls into touch on the far side. Blues still under pressure.
49 Scrum to the Brumbies now, five metres out under the sticks and a prime opportunity. It's a mess and Luatua just strides in to poach the ball before Hickey clears. Sums up the game really.
48 McCabe has been the Brumbies best threat all night and he's at it again, into the 22 but then Tomane spills the ball in contact. Frustrating for the home fans. Blues scrum deep in their 22.
47 Chip kick over the top from White puts Piutau under pressure as he's forced into touch by Tomane. Attacking lineout for the Brumbies. Saili on for Halai.
46 Fine nudge from Mogg into the far corner, pinning the Blues back. Wobbly start for the Brumbies but they have territory here. Lineout secure and cleared by the Blues. Brumbies in possession.
44 PENALTY, BLUES, HICKEY! 13-9: Down the middle it goes from the youngster, Blues starting brightly.
42 Blues starting with real purpose. Good runs from Halai and co and then they take a quick tap, Moli nearly getting through a gap. Another penalty against the Brumbies, three in three minutes, final warning from the referee. Hickey going for goal.
41 Toomua starts off the second half and the Blues immediately win the penalty at the ruck. Hickey finds touch in the opposition half.
BRUMBIES 13-6 BLUES
40 PENALTY, BLUES, HICKEY! 13-6: Good strike from Hickey and he does manage to bring the Blues back within seven points. An attritional first half with a overdose of kicking as a result of the conditions, with the Brumbies finding more success in the area. Second half coming up.
40 Trundling maul from the Brumbies and they give away a penalty for sealing off, Tomane the culprit. Slightly out of position there and Hickey has a chance to shorten the gap on the scoreboard.
39 Best chance yet for the Blues as Li breaks into space, but he's missing the support and the Brumbies win the penalty at the breakdown. Scare for the hosts as White clears to touch.
37 Tiny knock-on by the Brumbies after they stole the Blues lineout. Halai crashing up the middle, knock on by the Brumbies as they try to win the ball at the ruck. Blues scrum in midfield.
36 Piutau takes the mark and tries to run through some tacklers. Cleared by the Blues and Mogg runs it back but the Brumbies are penalised at the ruck. Hickey finds touch in the Brumbies half.
34 Blues eventually clear after some scrappy play deep in their 22, Hickey's kicking off the boil in the last few minutes. Counter kick from the Brumbies just rolls into the try area rather than touch, so the Blues will drop out. Far from a thriller this one.
32 White's kick falls wide to the right so the Brumbies remain ahead by ten. Luatua back on the field.
30 Alexander pinged this time as the Blues win that one at the scrum. Deep kick marked by Mogg who finds touch in the Blues half. Taken quickly, box kick from Hall and again Mogg takes. Slow pace to the game with both sides not throwing caution to the wind. O'Connor is offside so the Brumbies have a penalty just inside the Blues half. White having a shot.
28 Errors killing the Brumbies multiple attacks, as Kuridrani runs well but the ball is lost forward. All territory and possession going the home side's way now.
27 Tomane returns from the blood bin as Luatua heads in the opposite direction with a cut to the head. Brumbies lineout, Tomane with some space but his pass falls the way of the Blues. Hall clears.
25 Ball lost forward by Siliva from the lineout, so the Blues have the scrum. Slippery conditions out there understandably.
23 Rain continues to pour in Canberra but Mogg is solid under the high ball. Both teams kicking for territory and the Brumbies kicking game is better, Toomua and Mogg making territory happen. The rain holds up a great-looking nudge from Mogg but it works out with a Brumbies lineout.
21 PENALTY, BRUMBIES, WHITE! 13-3: Three out of three on the night for the scrum-half, as the Brumbies stretch their lead to ten points.
20 Blues' front-row collapse and the Brumbies have a penalty. White going for goal.
18 Precise kick from Mogg pins the Blues back into the corner five metres out from their line. They win the lineout and Hickey just gets the ball away... but his foot was out the back of the try area so it's a five-metre scrum to the Brumbies.
17 Brilliant take from Mogg and the Brumbies are on the attack. Good counter-rucking from the Blues but the Brumbies set up outside the 22. McCabe through a half-gap and then a flat pass puts A.Smith into space. Long attack here and it ends with a knock on, the Blues clearing deep.
15 Fardy offside in front of Mogg so Hickey will have a second attempt from 40-metres out. He gives it a decent thump but it drops short of the posts. Toomua drops out.
13 PENALTY, BRUMBIES, WHITE! 10-3: Seven-point lead restored for the hosts as White scores from out on the left. Fine strike.
12 Advantage played as the Blues again offend at the maul. Cross-field kick from Toomua goes into touch so we'll come back. White to have a shot.
11 Deep restart from the Brumbies and Hickey under pressure from Kuridrani slices into touch. Promising for the Brumbies who have a lineout in the 22.
9 PENALTY, BLUES, HICKEY! 7-3: Blues hit straight back as the Brumbies go offside from a mix-up involving White and his pack. Chip shot for Hickey who sends it over.
7 TRY, BRUMBIES, MCCABE! 7-0: First taste of territory for the Brumbies and it ends in a try! McCabe's initial break puts them on the front foot and then a few phases later he brushes past Hickey to score by the sticks. White converts, Brumbies lead.
5 Faumuina pinged at the scrum and so the Brumbies can try and get out of their 22. Kicked to touch and the lineout is won before White kicks through, but we come back for a penalty as Luatua interfered with the maul. White finds touch in the Blues half.
3 Scrappy lineout but the ball is won by the Blues. Pressure on Hall after a good run by Nonu, but the Blues keep possession without making much ground. Slow, slow ball and it ends in a Brumbies scrum.
2 Cleared to touch by the Brumbies but only to just outside their 22. Lineout won by the Blues who attack. Carrying around the fringes from the pack but the ball is stolen by Fardy and White kicks clear. Unfortunately it flies straight into touch, so another Blues lineout.
Blues out on the field as the drizzle starts up again. Rousing reception as Mowen brings out the Brumbies. Growing injury list for the home side who are without Moore at hooker tonight. Hickey to get us underway.
Plenty of rainfall in Canberra before kickoff but the downpour appears to have stopped for now. Kaino leads out the Blues.
Jerome Kaino will captain a Blues side featuring two change. In the absence of Luke Braid, who moves to the bench after shouldering a heavy workload this season, 30-year-old Kaino will take over the reigns. Brendon O''Connor starts at openside flanker in place of Braid in an otherwise unchanged forward pack after last week''s win over the Highlanders. After a stellar game against the Highlanders last week, Jackson Willison has been ruled out of Friday''s clash with a rib injury as George Moala shifts into centre and livewire Tevita Li starts on the wing.
The Brumbies have made just one change to their starting side Friday's clash with the Blues as Siliva Siliva starts at hooker. Stephen Moore will miss his first Brumbies game through injury since 2011 after the Wallaby hooker was given a week to recover from a niggling knee concern. With Siliva moving into the starting side, Josh Mann-Rea comes on to the Brumbies bench in what is an otherwise untouched squad from the one which lost to the Rebels in Melbourne last Friday.
Hello and welcome to Canberra's for Friday's second Super Rugby match as the Brumbies host the Blues.

While Europe were busy demolishing the USA in the Ryder Cup, there was rugby from all four corners of the globe to get stuck into over the weekend.
South Africa should have the better of Australia up front but they must not allow the backs any time or space, says Thinus Delport.
There was loads of great rugby to enjoy over the weekend including some PRO12 upsets and some controversial refereeing.
