80 The Canes win a penalty straight out in front! They opting for a shot at goal even though there's not much to gain from it!
79 The Canes knock it on close to the line after a strong Savea run! Bulls are still in this as we head into the last minute of the game!
78 After many reset scrum the Bulls attack from their own half but a pass is called forward and the Canes will now have an attacking opportunity!
72 PENALTY, CANES, BARRETT, 22-20. Great strike from barrett who has had a flawless night with the boot!
71 The Canes are ecstatic as they win a penalty from the scrum! Kruger was the guilty man there! Barrett will have a challenging shot at goal.
70 An exciting passage of play from the Hurricanes comes to an end as a pass is called forward. Bulls are looking out on their feet and need to retain as much possession as possible in the last 10min!
68 CONVERSION, POLLARD, 20-19. Pollard converts his try and incredibly takes his side into the lead!
67 TRY! BULLS, POLLARD, 19-18. The much expected driving maul is defended well from 5m out and the Bulls release the backline instead. Pollard gets it steps inside and goes straight through under the poles!
65 PENALTY, CANES, BARRETT, 19-13. No mistake from Barrett who scores the first points of the half!
64 Great kick from Perenara on the blind side is recollected! Taylor gets the ball and gains good ground! Bulls scrambling again and do well to prevent a try but did concede a penalty. Barrett will take three.
63 The momentum is slowly turning here as Bulls win another penalty inside their own half. They kick for touch. They build a phase of attack keeping it close but retaining possession. Eventually a big hit from the Canes causes a knock on. Incredibly the Bulls now have a chance of winning this one tonight from looking completely out of it in the first half.
60 Pollard has pulled it! bad miss for the Bulls!
59 Pollard makes a half break to get the Bulls some momentum. They kicking less and looking more energetic this half! It pays off and the visitors win a penalty straight in front and Pollard should be able to level the scores here!
57 Savea makes a strong run up the mid-field and offloads to Taylor who can't hold! The Bulls gather and put a kick through into touch in the Canes 22m. If Taylor had held on there was loads of space in front of him!
52 Jacques-Louis Potgieter has been added to the injury list tonight for the Bulls as he hobbles off and is replaced by Pollard.
51 Credit to the Bulls who continue to prevent the game getting away from them as they defend well! A wave of attack from the Canes is brought to an end as the visitors win a penalty in their own half.
48 Bulls have certainly come out a bit more energetic this half but Canes are still looking too strong. Great work from Lam who has done incredibly well to win his side a penalty at the breakdown.
45 A great kick from the Bulls is collected by basson who almost gets away for a try! They manage to retain possession as Visser comes close in the right corner! The canes eventually turnover possession and clear, resulting in a drop goal attempt from Potgieter which just slides wide.
43 HUGE hit from Lam on Hougaard!! He went blind off the maul but didn't see the canes flanker who nailed him!
42 The second half is underway! Bulls are the first to attack but can't hold for too long! The Canes get possession and kick into the Bulls half into touch.
40 Half Time: Hurricanes 16 - Bulls 13
40 The half time score completely flatters the Bulls! They haven't quite pitched up tonight and the Canes have also been incredible in retaining possession and forcing the Bulls to do all the tackling which is causing them to fatigue. The Bulls try was fairly sloppy from the Canes where as the Canes probably should have scored one or two more. The Bulls are going to really need to turn it up a few notches if they want to win this one.
39 The Canes look good as they attack aggressively with the ball carriers with Savea especially making good ground! Once again a kick is put through. It goes into touch. Bulls are scrambling at the moment!
35 CONVERSION, BULLS, POTGIETER, 16-13. Flawless kicking from the two pivots tonight!
34 TRY! BULLS, VISSER, 16-11. Try from nowhere! Visser puts a high kick up into the Canes 22m. Broadhurst is there but rather lazily attempts to catch it. It pops up for the Bulls and Visser is there to collect and score!
33 PENALTY, CANES, BARRETT, 16-6. Barrett kicking well tonight!
32 The Bulls are just far too slow to the breakdown tonight as the Canes win another penalty! Barrett will have another shot at three.
31 Visagie's line out throw goes to no one and the Canes pick it up and attack. Dane Coles amongst others have some solid runs to gain ground! Barrett puts a grubber through but the Bulls manage to secure it and clear.
30 The Canes are winning the aerial battle as they win the ball from their own kick off through Savea! They attack strongly again before they spill the ball inside the Bulls 22m. The Canes infringe at the resulting scrum and the Bulls win a penalty!
28 PENALTY, BULLS, POTGIETER, 13-6. Potgieter strikes it straight and narrows the gap.
27 The Bulls have a rare opportunity with ball in hand as they attack off a line out. The Canes infringe at the break down and the visitors obtain a penalty. Potgieter will have a shot at 3.
25 Bit of a kicking duel takes place between the two sides with Barrett eventually finding touch on the half way.
23 More stunning play from the home side! Barrett puts up a high kick from his own 22m. Smith gets there and wins the high ball! Perenara then puts a chip kick over the ruck which Barrett collects! He is bundled into touch before he can get a pass away!
22 PENALTY, CANES, BARRETT, 13-3. Barrett continues his good form with the boot tonight!
21 Bulls get hammered at scrum time! Canes have won a penalty in kicking range and could extend their lead to 10. Bulls are not looking good so far, could be a long night for them.
20 Andre Taylor makes a great break in open play showing signs of his old form! He passes to Coles whose in support but he's tackled from behind and loses the ball forward!
18 PENALTY, BULLS, POTGIETER, 10-3. Bulls win a penalty immediately off the kick off and Potgieter makes no mistake!
16 CONVERSION, BARRETT, 10-0. Barrett with another good strike!

14 The Canes are all over a fairly tired looking Bulls unit! They gain good ground from retain possession before Barrett puts a cheeky grubber kick through. Ndungane is back in time as the Bulls manage to secure the ball. The Canes tackle strongly and take them over their own line to win a 5m scrum.
12 The Bulls execute a successful driving maul as they make some good ground. The Bulls attack strongly but the Canes win a penalty and will kick for touch!
9 PENALTY, CANES, BARRETT, 3-0. Good start from Barrett! Perfect kicking conditions tonight.
9 Serfontein crashes it up and the Canes are all over him as Leiua makes the hit and Lam is their first to secure the home side a penalty! Great play from the Canes. Barrett will have a fairly simple shot at goal.
8 The Canes find some space on the left wing through Alapati Leiua! His offload doesn't go to hand and the Bulls will finally have possession with a scrum just outside their 22m. Stegmann has taken a bit of knock and is leaving the field fairly gingerly.
7 The Canes are making the Bulls do a lot of tackling as they keep probing on attack! The Bulls defense is holding strong but it's only a matter of time if the Canes keep this up.
5 The Canes are looking good and managing to retain possession and build some phases on attack. No leaks from the Bulls defense as the attack comes to an end after Dane Coles puts a foot in touch.
3 The Canes use Savea as a crash ball runner off the line out to gain momentum. Eventually Perenara puts a grubber through which goes out right by the bulls try line.
1 And Barrett gets us underway! Bulls collect and clear through Jacques-Louis Potgieter.
0 Hurricanes news: The Hurricanes have been boosted by the return of both Victor Vito and Cory Jane. The All Black duo start the game at number eight and right wing respectively while Brad Shields makes his return to the squad via the bench. Tim Bateman is ruled out of the game so Alapati Leiua lines up in midfield alongside Conrad Smith, with Andre Taylor continuing at fifteen. Vito and Shields' comeback to the squad means Blade Thomson moves to the bench while Ardie Savea drops out altogether for the home game. Jeff Toomaga-Allen is a doubt and is therefore bracketed with John Schwalger, with Reggie Goodes backing up the latter on the bench.
0 Bulls news: Bulls coach Frans Ludeke has named fit-again lock Flip van der Merwe in his starting XV for the clash with the Hurricanes in Napier. The 67 cap lock takes over the captaincy and number five jersey from Victor Matfield in one of two changes to the starting pack that played against the Chiefs. In the other, Jacques Engelbrecht comes in at number eight, with Dewald Potgieter moving to the side of the scrum in place of Jacques du Plessis, who moves to the bench. Matfield and Jono Ross do not feature in the matchday 23.
0 Welcome to McLean Park in Napier for our Super Rugby coverage featuring the Bulls first game on tour against the Canes! Should be a mighty tussle tonight with the Bulls starting to find some form and the Canes just coming off a confidence boosting victory against the Crusaders last week!
