Last updated: 5th April 2014

80 Full Time: Reds 29 - Force 32

80 The Reds are on attack! Tense times here as the Force look to hold on! Quade Cooper steps in the pocket for a drop goal to level the scores!...And it just goes wide!! The Force have won another epic match!

Conversion79 CONVERSION, HAYWARD, 29-32. Hayward adds the two! We're in for an exciting finish!

TRY78 TRY! FORCE, HAYWARD, 29-30. The Force attack with patience as they take it through 16 phases before scoring! Nothing fancy, just solid ball retention before Hayward steps and finds a gap and breaks straight through to finish it off beautifully!

Penalty74 PENALTY, REDS, HARRIS, 29-25. Great strike from Harris whose been kicking well!

73 Great work from the Reds as they trap a Force player causing him to hold on to the ball whilst on the ground. Harris will have a shot from 40m out.

Penalty70 PENALTY, REDS, HARRIS, 26-25. Reds won a penalty immediately after the restart and Harris makes no mistake!

Drop Goal69 DROP GOAL, FORCE, EBERSOHN, 23-25. Ebersohn hits a low unconventional drop which just clears the cross bar by a coat of paint!

67 Beau Robinson does extremely well to bring a Force attack to end as he wins a penalty at the breakdown. The Reds kick for touch! The Force turn the ball over after a big hit on Cooper, they kick and find a good touch in the Reds 22m.

Penalty65 PENALTY, REDS, HARRIS, 23-22. Harris strikes that one beautifully!

64 Reds now win a penalty in the Force's half! Harris will have a shot to take his team back in front!

62 Hayward has taken this conversion and has pulled it! Lots of points left on the table now!

TRY60 TRY! FORCE, MORAHAN, 20-22. Textbook try from the visitors! They crash it up off the scrum for a few phases to suck in defenders, they then go wide where Morahan has all the space in the world to run in for a try!

59 Great play from the Force! They turnover possession in their own half and get the ball wide to Cummins in space! He storms up the left wing past Tapuai and puts a well weighted chip kick over the last line of defense! He chases well but the Reds scramble and dot the ball down but took the ball back over the try line. Force will have a scrum 5m out!

58 Ebersohn has missed another one! That's two in this half now.

57 Force now win a penalty after Slipper is penalized for being off his feet at the breakdown. Sias will have a shot to level the scores!

Penalty55 PENALTY, REDS, HARRIS, 20-17. No mistake from Harris who keeps it low but straight.

54 The Reds now have a chance to take the lead as they win a penalty straight out in front just behind the 22m. Cooper's hurt his leg and Harris will take the kick.

52 The kick hits the upright and bounces up for the Reds! Cooper does brilliantly and now they are on attack and storming towards the Force's line! The Force do brilliantly on defense and win a penalty at the breakdown to the scare for them.

50 The Force attack well with Morahan running hard! The Force come close but have won a penalty in the right hand corner. Ebersohn will have a chance to score the first points of the half and take his team into the lead.

46 A flat pass from Genia down the blind side puts Tapuai in huge space! Apparently the pass was too flat and has been called forward.

44 The Reds looking dangerous but Cooper spills the ball again as he finds himself running an inside line onto a pass that he usually dishes out!

43 The Force once again do well to retain possession. This time they come unstuck as the Reds do well at the breakdown through Beau Robinson. Cooper kicks for touch!

41 Ebersohn gets us underway for the second half! reds gather and begin to run it! Cooper tries his magic but loses the ball! Force gather and put a grubber through! The Reds scramble back and manage to clear.

40 Probably a fair reflection of the game so far! The Force started off brilliantly by holding onto the ball and winning penalties for Sias to convert. Once Cottrell left the field it was all Reds and they took full advantage of the yellow card scoring all 14 of their points. Should be an interesting second half! Both teams in with a shout here. In an extremely heated contest like this one, it may come down to discipline!

Penalty40 PENALTY, REDS, COOPER, 17-17. Great kick from Quade as they head into the break. All tied up here!

40 The Reds have won a penalty as the siren for half time sounds! Cooper will have a shot to level the scores before they head into the break.

39 Sias Ebersohn misses the kick!

Penalty38 TRY! FORCE, MCCALMAN, 14-17. The Force are a completely different team with 15 men! Great patience as they take the ball through 16 phases before McCalman crashes over. Nothing fancy, just good clinical rugby!

Conversion35 CONVERSION, COOPER, 14-12. Great strike from Quade! Force have really suffered from that yellow card! Cottrell is now back on the field.

TRY34 TRY! REDS, SLIPPER, 12-12. Great play from the Reds! They find space on the wing for Rod Davies who comes close to scoring! They go wide to the other side and Slipper gets a one on one with Pek Cowan and crashes over for a try!

33 The Force manage to clear but don't find much distance! Reds will want to grab another try before Cottrell is allowed back on the field!

32 Quade Cooper displaying some of his magic as he gets his team on the front foot! They keep possession and make good ground! Ben Lucas spots some space out wide and puts a grubber through for Rocket Rod Davies! The ball just rolls into touch before he can get there.

30 The Reds look dangerous on attack as Cooper takes the ball off the scrum at speed. His offload just doesn't find the hands of Tapuai and the Force win a scrum. Reds look dangerous, just need to cut out the errors!

Conversion26 CONVERSION, REDS, COOPER, 7-12. No mistake from Quade who adds the two points!

TRY25 TRY! REDS, TAPUAI, 5-12. The Reds take full advantage of the overlap as they hold onto the ball, suck the defenders in and then huge space appeared out wide! Easy run in for Tapuai!

24 The Reds opt for the line out and go wide on attack! They come extremely close through Slipper!

24 The ref is checking the hit now with the TMO. Cottrell might be in trouble. Yip, he's been given a yellow card!

24 Huge hit from Cottrell on a Simmons! Don't think he used arms there! Causes a bit of tension between the two sides! Reds have won a penalty from Cottrell entering the resulting ruck illegally.

Penalty22 PENALTY, FORCE, EBERSOHN, 0-12. Sias has his kicking boots on! Another great strike.

20 Force with another kick-able penalty! They attack well, keep possession and wait for the Reds to infringe. Seems to be a winning formula tonight!

Penalty18 PENALTY, FORCE, EBERSOHN, 0-9. Force are efficiently going about business tonight and now have a healthy lead!

17 The Force are playing with incredible confidence as they run it from their own half and gain good ground! Pek Cowan has a storming run as he runs up the middle in space. The Force come close before knocking on but they had a penalty advantage and Sias should convert.

Penalty15 PENALTY, FORCE, EBERSOHN, 0-6. No mistake from Sias.

13 The Force manage to retain possession of the ball but don't make to much ground. Their patience pays off as they slowly start to make meters. Reds are caught off side and they win a penalty straight out in front!

Penalty9 PENALTY, FORCE, EBERSOHN, 0-3. Great strike from the Bloem man to give the visitors an early lead.

8 The Force win a penalty inside the Reds half! Ebersohn will have a shot!

7 Brilliant play from the Reds! They go wide with some skilful hands and Tapuai finds space on the left wing! He puts a clever kick through which is collected by a Davies but just loses the ball as he goes over the line! Great try saving tackle from the Morahan!

5 The Force win a penalty from the scrum! Missed chance there for the Reds!

4 Ben Tapuai makes a break off the line out! He loses his footing whilst trying to side step Hayward but they manage to secure a scrum close to the try line. Good opportunity here for the home side!

3 His first attempt is short and to the left! Not a great strike.

2 Cooper gets us underway! The Force run it from their own line and Nathan Charles find space on the wing before he gets close lined and loses the ball. Ref didn''t penalize and play continues. Reds win a penalty and Quade will have a shot from far out.

0 Reds news: Livewire Jamie-Jerry Taulagi will make his Super Rugby debut this weekend after being named on the wing for the Reds' match against the Western Force. Taulagi's addition is one of two changes to the starting side that defeated the Stormers last weekend, with injuries to Dom Shipperley (hip flexor) and Lachie Turner (ankle) forcing a shuffle in the back three. Taulagi will play on the wing, while Ben Lucas will earn his first start of the season at full-back.

0 Force news: McCalman, who returns from a two-week suspension incurred from his side's 31-29 win over the Highlanders, has been named at the back of the Force scrum, while Angus Cottrell reverts back to the blindside flank in the only changes to the Force line-up.

Welcome to Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane for our Super Rugby clash featuring the Reds and the Force! Surprisingly the Force have found themselves ahead of the Reds on the log through some spirited performances but the Reds coming off a good win will want to rectify that tonight!

Back Ireland to continue their winning ways

It has been fairly even between Ireland and Australia in the last six meetings, three wins to Australia, two Irish victories and a draw, but recent form comes down in Ireland’s favour, with eight wins from nine contrasting to Australia's three victories in nine.
