Bulls v Brumbies - Live
BULLS 44-23 BRUMBIES
80 Knocked on by the Brumbies in desperation and this contest is done and dusted. Good win for the Bulls as the Brumbies end a disappointing tour of South Africa with another loss. Pure Bulls power and precision won that one as the Waratahs benefit in the Australian Conference.
79 TRY, BRUMBIES, KURIDRANI! 44-23: Breakout try from the Brumbies as Lealiifano kicks ahead, Hougaard recovers but then spills possession and Kuridrani slides over. Brumbies chasing a try bonus point now.
77 Half-chance for Mogg as the ball slips from his grasp when stepping past the defence. Scrum Bulls in their own half - is there another try to come?
76 TRY, BULLS, ROSS! 44-16: Bulls go into the corner. Thunderous drive and Ross is there at the bottom for his second try! That caps a stellar performance from the home side as they secure the try bonus point. Pollard converts.
75 YELLOW CARD, BRUMBIES, MANN-REA! Turnover ball and Hattingh charges forward in the 22. Basson spills the pass but now we come back for the penalty. Josh Mann-Rea sent to the bin!
73 Promising break from Serfontein as he hacks on past Mogg, but he can't quite control the final touch. Ball goes into touch and from the lineout the Brumbies secure the ball. Trying to run from deep.
71 Brumbies certainly playing with endeavour but that's another knock-on after plenty of phases. Bulls still yet to score a fourth try...
69 TRY, BRUMBIES, MOWEN! 37-18: It might be in a losing cause, but that's a fantastic pass from McCabe. He keeps the ball in despite a double tackle and Mowen is sharp enough to ground the ball and score. Lealiifano hooks the kick.
67 Pollard gets out of danger with a long kick to touch. Brumbies countering productively, Speight making ground down the touchline. Over the other side and have the Brumbies scored? Depends on the timing of the pass from McCabe as he was tackled into touch...
65 Scrum penalty this time to the Brumbies. White finds touch outside the 22. Brumbies trying so hard to make something happen but that's another basic handling error. Bulls scrum on their 22.
64 Good net gain for the Bulls after Mogg was pinned back into his 22. Scrum to the Brumbies after a slight knock-on - Pollard replaces Potgieter.
62 PENALTY, BULLS, POTGIETER! 37-13: No mistake with that one and the Bulls now lead by 24!
60 Long way out for Potgieter and he can't quite get the length on that kick. Brumbies clear and that's a slight knock-on from Van Zyl, but the Bulls win another penalty. Potgieter lining up another shot.
58 Brumbies lose the lineout, a problem all night. Possession won back though as the Brumbies creep up to halfway. Struggling to find space in the defence and that's a penalty to the Bulls, Brumbies holding on.
56 Mogg does well to clear the ball into touch but the Bulls are well set up on halfway. Hougaard has moved out to the wing and breaks, brought down by Speight. Reaching the 22, good defensive work from Mowen however wins a penalty. Mogg clears.
54 Brumbies lineout in the Bulls half. Multiple phases end with a penalty as the Bulls don't roll away at the ruck. Tapped as the Brumbies look to catch out their hosts, but the ball is lost forward.
52 PENALTY, BULLS, POTGIETER! 34-13: Order restored as the fly-half knocks over another kick. Bulls in control.
51 Ugly, monster scrum from the Bulls who tap and go. Good pressure from the forwards sucks the Brumbies right and then the Bulls strike left, Potgieter trying to find a man but going himself. Pass then goes wide but Visser's contribution is poor as the ball flies into touch. Back we come for a penalty.
50 Scrappy possession for the Bulls at the ruck and the ball goes forward off Hougaard. Brumbies scrum deep in their own half.
48 TRY, BRUMBIES, SPEIGHT! 31-13: Speight pops up at first receiver and busts through four tackles to score! Soft defence and the visitors have some hope. Lealiifano converts.
47 Mogg rapidly chasing after a kicked-through ball and Matfield just does enough to block him enough five metres from the line. Big chance for the Brumbies there. Went over the line off a Bull so the Brumbies have a five-metre scrum.
45 TRY, BULLS, BASSON! 31-6: Basson is away! White flings a pass out wide and you're not going to catch the Springbok from there. Potgieter misses the conversion but that should be that - hard to see the Brumbies coming back from this.
44 Pressure on Potgieter so his clearance kick isn't the best. Brumbies set to attack outside the 22.
42 PENALTY, BULLS, POTGIETER! 26-6: Simple strike from the number ten and the Bulls almost have this one sewn up. Can the Brumbies respond?
41 YELLOW CARD, BRUMBIES, TOOMUA! Potgieter gets the second half underway and the Bulls are flying out of the blocks! Advantage played, back we come for a high tackle. Upstairs to the TMO we go... it's a yellow card! Toomua goes to the bin.
Bulls 23 - 6 Brumbies
40 The Brumbies have a last tilt at getting their first try but Jono Ross does well to turn it over. Hougard thumps it into touch - and that's half time! A flying start from the Bulls - can the Brumbies pull them back? We'll be back in 10.
39 PENALTY, BULLS, POTGIETER.23-6. A long-range penalty extendes the Bulls lead after Werner Kruger wins a penalty with good work at the breakdown.
38 Matfield goes off his feet as he chases the restart. Speight makes good ground after the Brumbies swing it wide from the line-out.
36 PENALTY, BRUMBIES, LEALIIFANO. 20-6. The Brumbies are still in this.
34 Greyling is penalised at scrum time. White finds touch. Leon Power takes the line-out the Brumbies go wide. The Bulls are offside...penalty!
32 Lots of kick tennis now with Visser and Mogg exchanging long territory finders. Eventually the Bulls keep it in hand but a knock-on gives the Brumbies a scrum inside their own half.
30 Moore gives away possession cheaply by not throwing inn straight and an opportunity is lost. Hougaard send one into the night sky after the scrum, Ndungane chases.
28 A big lead already for the home side. The Brumbies will have to score next or risk falling too far behind. White finds touch from a penalty for lazy running by Flip vd Merwe.
26 CONVERSION, POTGIETER. 20-3.
25 TRY, BULLS, ROSS. 18-3. Hougard makes the initial break, Serfontein is up in support and gives a wonderful offload to Ross, who charges home to score!
23 PENALTY, BRUMBIES, LEALIIFANO. 13-3. Great comeback from the Brumbies scrum as Dean Greyling goes down under pressure. Christian Lealiifano splits the uprights from downtown.
19 PENALTY, BULLS, POTGIETER. 13-0. Sefrontein busts a few tackles, the Brumbies drift offsides and Potgieter slots the easy points.
17 Matfield is interfered with in the air at a line-out after another penalty against the Brumbies scrum so Potgieter sets up an attacking line-out from the penalty.
15 Fardy hits a half gap, but he is well dragged down from Matfiled - it all collapses into a comedy of errors after that so the referee calls them back for a Bulls scrum.
13 PENALTY, BULLS, POTGIETER. 10-0. Good kick from JLP, who hits the target from an angle after the Brumbies scrum is penalised.
11 CONVERSION, POTGIETER. 7-0.
10 TRY, BULLS, SERFONTEIN. 5-0. A classic first-phase try from the Bulls. Matfield makes the break before selling a dummy to Mogg and offloading to the flying Serfontein, who crosses untouched.
7 MISSED DROP by Potgieter. They aren't easy from 50m, but he was way off. It's all Bulls for now.
5 The first chance for points is for the Bulls with a penalty on the halfway line but Jacques-Louis Potgieter's kick falls short. It nevertheless allows the Bulls to ply some territorial pressure.
3 Predictably Hougaard box kicks. The Brumbies try run it back but go nowhere. Mogg kicks long. Visser replies and finds touch near halfway.
1 Here we go! Matt Toomua kicks us off and goes deep. The Bulls take a while to get it out but eventually Hougaard clears. Henry Speight counter immediately. The Brumbies are run into touch on the Bulls 10m line.
The Bulls are unbeaten at Loftus this season...but they'll be tested tonight. Let's do this!
Brumbies team news: Leon Power returns to the Brumbies team for the first time since Round 5. With Power included at lock, Scott Fardy moves to the side of the scrum at blindside flanker, Fotu Auelua and Jordan Smiler come onto the bench and Tom McVerry drops out of the matchday 23.
Bulls team news: Bulls captain Flip van der Merwe is back at the helm of the home team. Van der Merwe replaces Paul Willemse in the number four jumper while Werner Kruger rotates as tight-head prop with Marcel van der Merwe. Jacques-Louis Potgieter swaps the bench and the number ten jersey with Handre Pollard in the only change at the back.
