Stephan Greeff will make his Super Rugby debut on Friday when the Lions entertain the Hurricanes.

Greef, 22, comes into the side after Wikus van Heerden was injured in the 27-25 win over the Cheetahs.

Van Heerden is facing around three weeks out following a tip tackle by Andries Strauss, with wing James Kamana also sidelined with concussion.

There is a chance Kamana could make the bench, however his place in starting XV goes to Michael Killian, with Lionel Mapoe on standby.

Coach John Mitchell has made one further change, with Warren Whiteley coming in at No.8 for the benched Cobus Grobbleaar and Joshua Strauss moving to the flank.

Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett has named an unchanged line-up for the trip to Johannesburg.

Despite losing 39-26 to the Stormers last time out in Cape Town, Hammett has kept faith in his squad.

That means young fly-half Beauden Barrett, who impressed with 21 points on his tournament debut, retains the No.10 shirt.
