The Hurricanes have opted to rest Beauden Barrett for Friday's visit of the Brumbies.

Barrett has started all 11 games for Hurricanes this season, but he drops to the bench as the side look to manage his game time.

That means Tusi Pisi comes into the starting XV after fully recovering from a calf strain.

Flanker Brad Shields also starts, with James Broadhurst and Jayden Hayward handed spots on the bench.

The Brumbies have also made a change at fly-half although the injury to Christian Lealiifano has forced coach Jake White's hand.

As a result Zack Holmes makes his starting debut in the No.10 jersey, while Robbie Coleman provides cover from the bench.

There is a further switch at scrum-half, with Ian Prior replacing Nic White.
