Glasgow Warriors are without Tommy Seymour for their clash against Ulster on Friday night after the winger was banned for a week.

Seymour was cited by match commissioner Yves Thieffine for a dangerous 'tip' tackle on Northampton's Vasily Artemyev during a Heineken Cup Pool Four encounter last Sunday.

He pleaded not guilty to foul play at a disciplinary hearing in Dublin, but independent judicial officer Simon Thomas upheld the citing complaint so Byron McGuigan will make his Heineken Cup debut in Seymour's place.

McGuigan has been named as one of five changes - with Peter Murchie and Alex Dunbar also coming into the backs and Tom Ryder and Chris Fusaro included in the pack.

Ulster have recalled Nick Williams and Ruan Pienaar to their starting XV - although Stephen Ferris has failed to recover from a back injury.

Williams replaces the benched Mike McComish at No 8, while Pienaar is preferred to Paul Marshall at scrum-half.

The absence of Ferris means Iain Henderson retains his place on the blindside.

What they said...

Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend

"With a number of injuries in the backs, we've had to do some rejigging, but both Alex Dunbar and Peter Murchie have plenty of experience in the positions they'll be playing and, like the rest of the team, have gone really well in training this week."

Ulster head coach Mark Anscombe

"Glasgow are a formidable team, particularly at home. We have to play for the full 80 minutes against them if we are to come away with the win.

"We can't afford to put in a performance for 50 or 60 minutes like we have done in previous weeks."
