The Reds will be without captain James Horwill for Fridays Super Rugby encounter against the Sharks at Suncorp Stadium.

Horwill has been rested as part of his recovery from the a jaw injury, with Will Genia leading the side on his absence.

The Reds have made four changes to their line-up following the 11-11 draw with the Force.

Ed O'Donoghue and James Slipper come into the pack, while Rod Davies and Chris Feauai-Sautia start in the backs.

The Sharks have made three changes of personnel to the starting line-up that lost to the Highlanders last time out.

Piet Lindeque, Jean Deysel and JC Janse van Rensburg all start, with coach John Plumtree making some positional alterations.

JP Pietersen moves across to outside centre, Wiehahn Herbst starts at tighthead, Keegan Daniel returns to No 8 and Marcell Coetzee handed the No 6 jersey.

Monde Hadebe could also make his Super Rugby debut having been named on the bench, where he is joined by Springboks flanker Willem Alberts.
