Strokosch: Back for Gloucester
Gloucester will welcome back a trio of Scotland internationals for the visit of Cardiff.
Rory Lawson, Scott Lawson and Alasdair Strokosch are all free to return to action for the LV= Cup game, with Nicky Robinson set to take on his former Blues team-mates.
However, only Paul Doran-Jones, Will James and Akapusi Qera retain their starting places in the pack from Tuesday's defeat to Australia.
Cardiff director of rugby David Young is expecting Gloucester to be gunning for revenge at Kingsholm on Sunday.
Gloucester lost to the Blues three times last season - and Young believes that is likely to motivate the home side.
"I think Gloucester will want to put the record straight after we beat them three times last season in the Heineken and Anglo Welsh Cup," he said.
"They are probably still carrying a lot of pain from our fixtures last year and I would have thought there will be a determined group of players at Gloucester who will want to put the record straight."
The Blues are without 10 players due to international call-ups, so Australian fly-half Sam Norton-Knight will move to full-back to help plug the gaps.
Gloucester: 15 Freddie Burns, 14 James Simpson-Daniel, 13 Henry Trinder, 12 Tim Molenaar, 11 Lesley Vainikolo, 10 Nicky Robinson, 9 Rory Lawson, 8 Gareth Delve (capt), 7 Akapusi Qera, 6 Al Strokosch, 5 Dave Attwood, 4 Will James, 3 Greg Somerville, 2 Scott Lawson, 1 Paul Doran-Jones.
Replacements: 16 Darren Dawiduik, 17 Thomas, 18 Pierre Capdevielle, 19 Adam Eustace, 20 Jake Boer, 21 Jordi Pasqualin, 22 Carlos Spencer, 23 Jonny May
