Liebenberg: Immediate recall
Stomers coach Allister Coetzee has handed an immediate recall for Tiaan Liebenberg for the visit of the Hurricanes on Saturday.
Liebenberg was forced to pull out of the 33-0 rout over the Highlanders at late notice after going down with the flu - and in his absence Dean Fourie produced an inspired try-scoring performance.
However Coetzee has opted to hand Liebenberg the No.2 jersey after an impressive start to the season prior to illness.
"We know Deon did well against the Highlanders, and we could not have asked for more than what he gave," said Coetzee.
"It is really good to have a player of his quality pushing for a place. But we all saw the form Tiaan was in before last week, and we know the massive influence he has on the drive as well as in our scrumming."
Gio Aplo also missed the game against the Highalnders through illness and he returns to action on the bench.
The Hurricanes have rushed Conrad Smith and Tamati Ellison straight back into their starting XV for the clash at Newlands.
The All Blacks duo missed the defeat to the Cheetahs through injury, however they have been recalled to the misfiring back division.
Coach Colin Cooper has also named the experienced Willie Ripia at fly-half for the match after Aaron Cruden struggled in his first Super 14 start.
In the pack Jacob Ellison gets his first start of the season at the expense of John Schwalger, while Scott Waldrom replaces Karl Lowe.
