The Cheetahs have made just the one change for the South African derby with the Sharks.

Following the narrow defeat to the Stormers, coach Naka Drotske has promoted fly-half Riaan Smit to the starting XV.

Smit replaces Ebersohn, who has struggled to replicate his form from last season.

The Sharks have also made one change to their line-up, with included Riaan Viljoen in place of the sidelined Louis Ludik.

There is a further switch on the bench, with Willem Alberts replacing young Pieter-Steph du Toit.
