Chris Robshaw insists it is vital England build on their promising first year under the stewardship of Stuart Lancaster when they kick-off the QBE Internationals against Fiji on Saturday.

Lancaster guided England to second in the RBS Six Nations after taking over the reins from Martin Johnson, while his new-look squad were highly competitive during their tour of South Africa.

However Robshaw, who joins new cap Tom Youngs, Charlie Sharples, Ugo Monye and Brad Barritt in the line-up, believes England need to now impress in their autumn showdowns at Twickenham - with games against Australia, South Africa and New Zealand to follow.

"These are the exciting games you want to play in, in the big stadiums against the big teams," said the England skipper. "You want to go out there and challenge yourself.

"Of course we need to go out there and back up performances. That's what it is about, taking games week by week and hopefully delivering as a team and being one step ahead of where we were in the summer."

The match will see a number of England players, as well as backs coach Andy Farrell come face-to-face with former Saracens fly-half Glen Jackson, who will be making his international refereeing debut.

Farrell, who played alongside and then coached Jackson at Saracens, said: "I haven't spoken to him - I am sure I will after the game.

"It is a fantastic honour for Glen. He played his last game here at Twickenham in the 2010 final. To play that and then have his first international as a referee is fantastic achievement and I am sure he is super excited."

Fiji will have a few familiar faces in their line-up too, with Exeter's Sireli Naqelevuki and Leicester's Vereneki Goneva named in the centres, Gloucester's Akapusi Qera starting at No 8 and Worcester duo Josh Matavesi and Ravai Fatiaki included on the bench.
