The Stormers entertain the Wellington Hurricanes in Cape Town on Friday with both side's aiming to bounce back from defeats.

The South African side suffered their first-ever loss at Ellis Park when they were humbled 34-10 by The Lions last weekend.

Meanwhile, Hurricanes went down to Jake White's Sharks 27-9 in Durban.

Full-back Jaco Taute returns to the Stormers' starting XV for the clash at Newlands Stadium.

Taute replaces Gio Aplon in the number 15 jersey with Aplon shifting across to the wing.

Damian de Allende will move from the wing to partner skipper Jean de Villiers in the Stormers midfield, the latter shifting to the number 13 jersey and Michael van der Spuy dropping out of the matchday squad altogether.

The rest of the team is unchanged from the line-up that went down to the Lions as head coach Allister Coetzee looks to maintain consistency in selection.

"I've learnt from this competition that you take nothing for granted, it is never easy," said Coetzee.

"You have to take your opportunities.

"The Hurricanes have four All Blacks in the back-line, that is where their strength is.

"We have to make sure we come up with a good performance. The Hurricanes, over the years, have never been scared to run the ball.

"That is their strength - as well as creating opportunities, with their ability to off-load - and will make it challenging for our defence."

Two changes

Hurricanes boss Mark Hammett has made two changes to his starting XV as former All Blacks prop John Schwalger comes into the front-row with Jeffery Toomaga-Allen dropping to the bench while Mark Reddish takes over from Mark Abbott in the second row.

Friday's clash with the Stormers is an important one for loosehead prop Ben Franks, who will be making his 100th Super Rugby appearance.

Franks played 83 matches for the Crusaders since 2006 and 16 for the Hurricanes, after joining the Wellington-based franchise last year.

Stormers: 15 Taute, 14 van Wyk, 13 de Villiers (capt), 12 de Allende, 11 Aplon, 10 Catrakilis, 9 Schreuder, 1 Kitshoff, 2 Ntubeni, 3 Malherbe, 4 Elstadt, 5 Carizza, 6 Kolisi, 7 Burger, 8 Vermeulen.
