Vickery: Determined

Phil Vickery hopes England's 24-13 win over France will ignite their RBS Six Nations campaign as they prepare for games with Scotland and Ireland next month.

The victory was England's biggest over France in Paris since 1992 and their second in the space of four months following their triumph in last year's World Cup semi-final.

The much-needed two points have also put Brian Ashton's men back in with a realistic shout of ending their five-year wait for Six Nations silverware.

"We certainly won't get carried away," said Vickery.

"We've got a huge game in two weeks' time (against Scotland), and we have to reach the levels of intensity we did against France and do it on a consistent basis.

Emotion

"It was a huge effort from everyone.

"We lost here in 1998, 2002, 2004 and 2006 to France, and we lost a World Cup quarter-final against South Africa to Jannie De Beer and five drop-goals in 1999.

"The last time we were here we walked back down the tunnel having lost a World Cup final.

"There was huge emotion in the camp, and I am just pleased for everyone."
