The Cheetahs continued their excellent away form with a 19-10 win over Western Force in Perth.

Riaan Smit kicked four penalties and converted Willie Le Roux's late try to seal the South Africans third victory out of four on their Super Rugby tour of Australasia.

The Force led 7-6 at half-time thanks to Winston Stanley's converted try and extended that advantage to 10-6 after 56 minutes when Jayden Hayward - on for the injured Sias Ebersohn - added a penalty.

But the Australian side, playing at home for the first time this season, paid the price for their lack of discipline in the closing stages of the match.

Stand-off Smit edged the Cheetahs ahead with two successful penalties in quick succession, both awarded for infringements at the breakdown.

And with the final whistle approaching, Le Roux clinched the result with a try after he reacted quickest to Robert Ebersohn's hack ahead.

"It's important when you are not at your best to still win and we were a bit lucky but we'll take it," said Cheetahs skipper Adrian Strauss, whose side now return home having also beaten the Highlanders and Waratahs during their tour.

"We want to win every game but we'll take the three on the tour and hopefully we can keep up the momentum back home."

Force captain Pek Cowan said: "It was obviously a disappointing performance. We just didn't deliver tonight, we didn't capitalise and we didn't put points on the board."
