RaboDirect PRO12: Glasgow Warriors beat Cardiff Blues 29-13
Glasgow Warriors produced a storming second-half display at Scotstoun to defeat Cardiff Blues 29-13 and move to the top of the RaboDirect PRO12 table.
Three tries in the space of 11 minutes, with Niko Matawalu's brace sandwiching Duncan Weir's score, earned the Scottish side a bonus point and moved them above Ulster, who were held to a draw by Treviso, on points difference.
Weir missed an early penalty attempt for the Warriors and was then brought down just short of the line after a break by Alex Dunbar as the home side started on the front foot.
Peter Horne finally broke the deadlock for Glasgow in the 18th minute with a fine try as he stepped inside his man before touching down, with Weir adding the conversion from out wide.
The visitors hit back strongly and levelled on the half-hour when Rhys Patchell celebrated his new deal with the club by converting Josh Navidi's try.
Patchell's penalty then put the Blues ahead for the first time and he added a second penalty before the break to make it 13-10 after Weir had replied with a long-range effort.
The second half belonged to the Warriors, though, with Matawalu's opening try in the 56th minute putting them back in front, the scrum-half getting to his own long kick first.
Weir's conversion extended their lead and he touched down himself on the hour after a long phase of possession.
A tap penalty was then moved swiftly to the right for Manawalu to finish in style, although Scott Wight failed to convert this time, as Glasgow wrapped up their seventh successive win.RaboDirect Pro 12. Click here to bet.
