Glasgow made it three RaboDirect Pro12 wins in a row and a first in eight attempts against Leinster as they claimed a 12-6 victory at the Scotstoun Stadium.

The hosts held the advantage at the half-way stage thanks to a Chris Fusaro try converted by Stuart Hogg in the 39th minute, after Jimmy Gopperth's penalty gave Leinster an early lead.

The Warriors went on to dominate the second half but, due largely to three separate kickers missing six shots at goal, they were dependent on a late try from Jerry Yanuyanutawa to give them the win after Gopperth's second penalty cut the lead to just one.

A mixture of tight Glasgow defence and Leinster errors meant the play was rarely within the home 22 before Gordon D'Arcy made a dangerous break only to lose the ball when tackled.

There was little pattern to the scrum penalties and when one came to Leinster after 24 minutes, summer signing Gopperth stuck it home.

Moments later, when the Leinster scrum stood up under pressure, Hogg had the chance to bring equality from a wider angle, but his effort sailed wide.

Pendulum

Despite Hogg's miss, the pendulum had swung Glasgow's way with the final five penalties of the half awarded against Leinster.

Glasgow opted for touch with a minute to play in the first half and from the line out, fly-half Ruaridh Jackson made a dart to the line where flanker Fusaro found a way over with Hogg converting to let Glasgow take a 7-3 lead.

The Warriors dominated possession in the opening minutes of the second half but play was all in their half.

Rob Kearney came close for Leinster after chasing down a clearance kick and when Glasgow were caught offside, Gopperth reduced the deficit to a solitary point.

The hosts put the Leinster defence under relentless pressure in the closing stages before Jackson squandered a penalty kick before replacement prop Yanuyantawa forced his way over the line to seal victory for the hosts.
