Guinness Premiership, Vicarage Road, Sunday September 11, KO 3pm
Saracens cruised to a 34-16 victory over Leeds Tykes with a performance that once again highlighted their credentials as possible Premiership title contenders.
Sarries coach Steve Diamond ruled his side out of a title challenge after their defeat to Wasps on the opening day, but they were certainly in championship form as they ripped into the Leeds defence.
Thomas Casteignede, Kevin Sorrell, Dan Scarbrough and Matt Cairns all helped themselves to tries as Saracens secured a bonus point at Vicarage Road.
The home side quickly set about putting Leeds to the sword, and the Tykes found former employee Scarbrough in fantastic form, as he played a major part in the Sarries' first three tries.
First the full back released Castaignede to score, and then he took part in a swift move that saw Sorrell touch down.
Leeds had posed little threat all afternoon, and the euphoria of attracting Justin Marshall to Headingley has soon been replaced by worries over the future of the club.
Scarbrough all but wrapped up the match by half time with a try of his own, and the final score could have been larger had the Sarries been more clinical.
The second period had the air of formality about it, although the home side did add the all-important fourth try to secure the bonus point.
Hooker Cairns powered over to take the score past 30, reflecting the dominance that Saracens enjoyed all afternoon.
A late gift of a try for Leeds' Chris Murphy came as a result of the London side taking their foot of the pedal, but it was no more than a consolation.
