Two late scores saw the Canterbury Crusaders claim a last gasp Super 14 victory over Queensland Reds on Saturday.

The top club who are already assured a semi-final on home soil, fought back from a 14-8 half time deficit to overcome the Reds 27-21 at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

Canterbury opened the scoring thanks to an early try by winger Kade Poki but replied almost immediately, captain James Horwill crossing in the 12th minute.

Then after break from within his quarter by retiring flanker David Croft, Morgan Turinui bounced a pass to winger Peter Hynes

Hynes swerved and then ran over opposing number Sean Maitland to give the home side a 14-5 lead.

A 22nd minute penalty goal from Crusaders playmaker Stephen Brett reduced the lead to six points.

And Kieran Reid, Ali Williams and Daniel Carter piled on tries for Canterbury to secure the late win.
